Sorry for my response. I hadn't read the responses by Smoke and Wannabe Yogi before I addressed the post by Dware.

On a side note, I would ask Dware about his chosen title "Haji Eliminator". I know that Hajji is a title for a Muslim leader. I know what an "eliminator" is (or, I believe I understand what Dware is implying with that particular use of the term).

For Dware - I would ask you this - are all Hajji the same? Are all Hajji bad people, or are there some good Hajji?

I am asking that as a serious question. Are there Hajji that are good people, that simply bear the title?

Done here.

A hajji is a Muslim who has made the hajj to Mecca. Greek Orthodox Christians borrowed the word; a Greek who makes a pilgrimage to Jerusalem can use the title hatzi or hadzi; Anastasios becomes Hatzi-Anastasios.

But I suspect the word is used here as it unfortunately is by many people, as a derogatory term for any Arab.

Thanks for the edification, Smoke.

Like you, I think Dware's use of the term is as a racial slur, based on a very limited understanding of the religion of Islam, and a natural tendency toward bigotry.

It would appear that Dware is quite the Renaissance Man. Or is that "Renaissance Troll"?

I really like the "pond skimmer" analogy.

You just know that, at the end of the day, they really take great pride in having helped raise the level of the pond - just as they sink below the surface.

Presumptuous or not the fact is nine out of ten scientists have no need for the supernatural.

Whether or not we need to believe in the supernatural is not in question, actually. It is a fact that there are plenty of religious scientists. I am not a scientist, but I love science- I always got high grades in science. The fact that I believe in a God, does not mean that I don't love science.
I don't buy the fact that all scientists are atheists or agnostics, that would absurd if I did. I may as well say all cooks are Mediterranean or all drug addicts are homeless. Those statements aren't true and we all know it.
By the way, welcome to the RF. :)
