When I think of converts to Islam, Louis Farrakhan always seems to be at the head of the line.

Though the Nation of Islam has indeed created genuine converts to Islam like Malcolm X. Comparing Malcolm X to Louis Farrakhan is good evidence that Islam is a religion of love, since it is Farrakhan that is considered the most likely single person to have been involved in the assassination of Malcolm X.

I've enjoyed this thread and seeing famous converts and how they came to Islam and why. Thanks for starting it to the op. I was curious. If they don't follow Islam really why are they called the "Nation of Islam"? I don't want to hijack the thread so I apologize if this is doing that. I've only heard of them personally.

The story of Islam:

In 1980, he was ordered by his state to follow seminars and conferences about Islam participated by the great commanders of Muslim thinkers like Dr. Hassan Al Toraby who talked several times about Islam and explained it. Robert saw him.
Prays and prostrates. He thought firstly it was an insult for his humanity but later he realized that sheikh Hassan leans to Allah. He thought finally that it is the right action.
He found that Islam is the only solution, it is the religion of justice in its partial and whole matters.

He is like a lawyer aspires to unhuman concepts and all these concepts are found in Islam, so his heart was opened to Islam and from that day, he declared his Islam and called himself Farouk Abdel-Haq.

In order to know the reality of light, you must ascend to its source in a unique, personal experiment." _ René Guénon

The French scholar René Guénon — or Sheikh Abdul-Wahid Yahya — was born on November 15, 1886, in the city of Blois, in west-central France. At 20 he began his quest for answers to the questions that the Catholic theologians could not answer. He decided to study the major world religions and the spiritual philosophies. His search ended with his embracing Islam. Consequently, he became one of the most important modern Sufi scholars
