A surprise.... Destiny is not unrelated to what one's thoughts and actions are in the now....day by day.... We are now, a result of the past....we will be in the future, a result of now. So if one practices a life devoted to the realization of a 'peace that passes understanding'...a big surprise awaits as your destiny...Not sure what you mean.
I take it this was supposed to somehow connect to belief in God?A surprise.... Destiny is not unrelated to what one's thoughts and actions are in the now....day by day.... No...a belief in God will not cut it....one needs to transcend conceptualization and deal with ultimate reality itself....not the verbal interpretation, description, or explanation thereof...I take it this was supposed to somehow connect to belief in God?
No idea how.
Fair enough, I suppose. Not sure what you actually expect me to do, or why you assume I did not. But there is little point to worrying about it.No...a belief in God will not cut it....one needs to transcend conceptualization and deal with ultimate reality itself....not the verbal interpretation, description, or explanation thereof...
With people like former PM Tony Abbott, I would have to beg to differ about the "intelligent" part.when it deals with the newest continent in the world, modernity and enlightenment produce smart and intelligent inhabitants. A similar result in my country would be a dream come true....
Do really intelligent people take politics seriously....given the systemic corruption of government generally? 'Honest government' is an oxymoron...With people like former PM Tony Abbott, I would have to beg to differ about the "intelligent" part.
And looked at how many people voted for him, and got screwed.
I think it is politicized in that lefties do not want to be seen on the same side as the center/right God believers and will not report a religion, (also the non-denominational)....even though they have religion....The statistics are a bit iffy in that people will report a religion even if they don't really believe it. So it is a very rough figure to start with. I think people are just becoming more outspoken of their non belief and not identifying as belonging to a belief system. Hope that makes sense.
Not seeing much evidence of it, myself.I think it is politicized in that lefties do not want to be seen on the same side as the center/right God believers and will not report a religion, (also the non-denominational)....even though they have religion....
I would rather not have a moron racist as a head of government. That's a terrible combination.Do really intelligent people take politics seriously....given the systemic corruption of government generally? 'Honest government' is an oxymoron...
Left wing, right wing...six of one, half a dozen of the other....the puppeteer remains behind the curtain... mo is divide and rule...I would rather not have a moron racist as a head of government. That's a terrible combination.
I didn't say anything about "honest" government...but since you have brought up, he is also dishonest as well as bloody stupid PM, who done so many backflips, that you would think he was a circus. And I hate clowns.
Hi
I was just looking at the Australian Bureau of Statistic figures, as we have just completed the 2016 Australian census.
Here are the results for 1911 - 2011.
The results for 2016 should be available in a month or two where I suspect the figure will exceed 30% at the expense of the traditional mythologies.
Graph of proportion of population choosing "No Religion" as their religion.
Is this a similar pattern in your region?
If not why?
Cheers

In Canada, there's a bit of a controversy around the religion question on the census. Here, it instructs people to respond with the religion they were raised in even if they no longer attend services, unless they've converted to another religion, so there are concerns that our "nones" are under-reported.Hi

Who may tell? Atheism has so little consequence that many people may fail to notice it, even in themselves. That doesn't mean that they are siding with Atheism. Right? Please
Indeed, it is not the same thing, not by a long shot.No-religion is not a synonym of Atheism. Is it? Please
