Two of my favorite albums of a more recent group would be the Heavy Metal soundings of the group Clutch. This is their self titled album (just called Clutch) and the second one is called Elephant Riders.

STEELY DAN/ AJA

This album won many awards for the group of Steely Dan and provided a new fanbase for the next generation of listeners. Josie and Black Friday are among the other hits along with Aja. The title track Aja was able to receive airplay although the song plays over the suggested radio time of 4 minutes.

DONALD FAGEN/ NIGHTFLY
DONALD FAGEN: Kamakiriad
You can probably find both these albums in a bargain CD section but do not let their price or location influence your opinion of these albums. Even though this is not a Steely Dan album, Donald Fagen does make his solo career very easy on the ears and throws in many remnants of that clean polished Steely Dan sound.

Probably the most remembered album from Todd Rundgren, famous for the hits HELLO IT’S ME and IN THE LIGHT.

Excellent choices EEWRED, I have the first 2 Ben Folds (? Ben Folds Five?) albums but I have never heard the live album. I was going to post a Cat Stevens album but I could not just pick one.

Captain Obvious
I'm mostly ignorant of pop-music, and my best bet is a video game remix.

Would The Relics of the Chozo count? That sort of thing is practically my only hope of anything less than a century or two old :).

An album that spawned hit after hit and put Fleetwood Mac on the rock and roll map. I watched Rhino's Best Album series on DVD and it featured Rumours and showed the behind the production that went into this album, not to mention the relationship tensions that the members were experiencing at the time. It always helps me appreciate the album that much more.

The self titled album by Warhol's Velvet Underground inspired such groups as REM, Talking Heads and Laurie Anderson. This is their first album, featuring Nico and including the hits, All Tomorrow's Parties, I'm Waiting For My Man. Nico and Lou Reed would leave this band to persue solo careers.

GROUP: TOAD THE WET SPROCKET
ALBUM: Fear

Toad The Wet Sprocket would admit that they got their name from a line in a Monty Python skit. This album includes the hits, HOLD HER DOWN, ALL I WANT and SOMETHING TO SAY.

Right now I'm listening to the Beatles 1967-1970 (the blue one) Greatest Hits CD. I remember listening to my dad's LP of this when I was kid. I still effects me the same way: Completely wowed.

I preferred the blue to the red one myself, those were the LDS days. Actually the whole set is worth owning.

I prefer the blue one too, now, but when I was a kid I liked the red one better, I understood those songs, lol! Although I think we wore out "Octopus' Garden" :jiggy:

I would love to have all the albums.... someday.

Ever wonder what Leonard Nimoy’s voice sounds like? What if Mae West sang Light My Fire? Have you ever heard Cassius Clay’s version of Stand By Me? Sammie Davis Jr. singing Shaft? Bing Crosby’s somber cover of Hey Jude!?!? Golden Throats Volume 2 answers the questions “what would it sound like if your favorite stars had pursued a singing career singing songs they have no business singing”. Phyllis Diller sings Can’t Get Get No Satisfaction, Mitch Miller’s version of Give Peace A Chance, Mel Torme sings Sunshine Superman, or who could forget my favorite William Shatner’s Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds. Its all here and so much more in Golden Throats Volume 2.:help:

Spinal.jpg

The mockumentary of Spinal Tap has been critiqued as one of the funniest movies of our generation. Christopher Guest (Saturday Night Live), Michael McKean (Lenny of Laverne And Shirley), and Harry Shearer (SCTV, The Simpsons) show their musical talent by writing and performing their own songs for the movie This Is Spinal Tap. To make matters worst/best they came out with another movie called The Return Of Spinal Tap and released another album entitled Break Like The Wind.
