Favorite musician or musical group (band)?

A spinoff of my Favorite Entertainer thread. Not necessarily who plays your favorite song, but who is your favorite musician or musical group of all time?

For me it is Chicago. They have spanned many decades, adapting to different styles with the times. I just wish they would kick out some new stuff.

Cliff Burton, Metallica's bassist for their first three albums, is definitely one of my favorites, and my main inspiration for playing bass.
I got onto Disturbed during my deconversion from Christianity, and their music helped me finally break the chains that were holding me down, so they will always have a special place for me. I even have the face logo tattooed on my arm.
TOOL and Deftones are two more favorites of mine because of the heavy bass riffs and metaphor saturated lyrics. Also to an extent System of a Down, but not as much.

lead singer of throbbing gristle, that invented the genre known as "Industrial"
inventor of acid house music (arguably)
chaos magician, co founder of the temple of psychic youth (effectively inventing his own religion)
Last englishman to ever be exiled from England (for the what later turned out to be false accusitions, of satanic ritual abuse)that he ironically was told the news while talking to the Dalai Lama in Tibet....
