Turn off that light, I'm trying to sleep through this. UGHDo you have a favorite quote about enlightenment?
Mine is: Anyone who tries to sell you enlightenment is like a man who picks your pocket and tries to sell you your own watch. --Alan Watts
I am not sure what enlightenment is beyond understanding what we are, however that is sometimes not easy. I think some are more enlightened than others, and there appears to be a practical limit for each individual to understanding ourselves. My answer reminds me of a Larson cartoon in which dogs are doing research to understand 'The doorknob principle'. Quote: "Knowing how it could change the lives of dogs everywhere dog scientists struggled diligently to understand the doorknob principle." Its one of my favorites from Larson. As stupid as a dog is, its not the most stupid mammal. What is difficult for a dog to contemplate is impossible for a goat.Do you have a favorite quote about enlightenment?

I see people making lot of threads as poke reactions TO something they read somewhere else on RF, rather than any otherwise pure intention to create one, this is why I finally ask.
That is nice to know. No, it wasn't in reaction to anything.
