I like Maxfield Parrish quite a bit. Most of these were painted in the 1920's or thereabouts- one of my favorite eras for art, fashion and architecture ....just before Art Deco became huge.

The first time I saw the "before" pictures of Rushmore, I thought the mountain looked far more beautiful before it was defaced. And then there is Crazy Horse, which will probably always remain a mountain with some extensive chiseling done to it.

I find the Crazy Horse monument equally displeasing.

I think Mount Rushmore is awesome, and a superb work of art. Its one of those rare, beautiful instances where America reminds me of ancient Mesopotamia, ancient Egypt, etc
