I may be way off base, so if I am, feel free to ignore me. 
I notice that you used to post a lot in the Islam DIR. Did you, or do you currently, identify with Islam? If so:
1.) Converted or raised?
2.) If you no longer identify with Islam, what changed?
3.) How did you become so knowledgeable? You could be a scholar based on what you have written in the Islam DIR.

Honestly, not being rude, but you have almost 15,000 posts-replies yet I never noticed you before, unless you change your avatar off and on, because I more identify-recognize the poster by the avatar rather than member name since I am very visual (as well as voice recognition) in connecting someone than by name. But I don't even connect with your avatar, and you are a staff member.
So my question would be, where do you post most often, e.g. which DIR et all?

- I became Muslim in college, when I met several other Muslims and became interested in it. My father is from Pakistan, and his family is very liberal Muslim; I guess I got into the culture, and the religion kind of followed.

- I am 1/2 Pakistani, 1/4 British, 1/4 French (dad is Paki)
- I'm calm because I have six daughters; I have no choice but to be calm. I'm blessed with really amazing children and a great hubby, so that all helps. When it comes to RF, I have just come to realize that when it comes to ignorance, losing my temper only makes me one of them.
- As stated above, I did identify with Islam for nearly three decades... all to varying degrees. I spent eight years at my most extreme, falling for the whole idea of "Islam is the only way" and wearing all the garb... yes I wore hijab and abaya for many years. Then I realized I lost myself inside of some culture I never could fully relate to, and I discovered that I was literally losing brain cells and becoming less intellectual. I couldn't live with that, so I backed WAY off and over time, realized I am not sure about anything, Islam or otherwise.
- I read everything. Literally, I drive my husband and kids crazy, because when I want to know about something, I obsess about it until I know too much for anyone's benefit.
- I have not personally gone anywhere to rebel against fatwas, because I don't believe in them to begin with. People have distorted religion to a point it's not even recognizable.
- I've been a member for a loooonnnnnggg time. I used to post in the Islam DIR, for obvious reasons, but since I couldn't reconcile the whole concept of hell and poor treatment of women, (amongst many other beliefs that are quite discriminatory), I stopped practicing altogether.

It will probably have to be Southern Indian; my wife has zero tolerance for hot food.

- I live in the good ol' US of A. I have visited Pakistan and UAE several times, though.
- I can read and write a little Urdu, but not enough to get through more than a sentence or two.
- I have no idea if I will realign with Islam; I can't align myself with a culture that won't reform and rid itself of certain ideologies, and if I reform it in my own mind, then it's not Islam anymore.
- I have been unable to find a liberal Muslim organization in my area. I was hopeful when they were building a new community center nearby, but they hired a "scholar" that I cannot, under any circumstance, relate to. He can't relate to the youth either, which is a shame.
- There is a MWA group on Facebook, and several women I know are in it.
- My children have been raised as Muslim, but I instill pure morality over ritual. What use is it to pray if you're a thug in reality?
- I'd love to meet for dinner with your lovely wife. It will happen someday; I'm in for South Indian food!

b) Ladies, there, feel no problem, they do their works with Islamic understanding and dress etc, eg,

= Dr.Mansoora Shamim : Ahmadi Muslim female Physicist working at CERN in Geneva Switzerland, currently involved in the search for quantum black holes in the data collected by ATLAS in 2012. Since, July 2008, Dr. Shamim has been working as a post doc for the university of Oregon in Eugene. She is currently based at CERN working on ATLAS experiment, where she has served as the responsible person for data quality monitoring for tau trigger from 2009-2010.
So actual Islam does not stop woman to achieve anything good.

- That is an excellent question, and to be honest, I haven't really said much to my husband about my beliefs; I just stay relatively quiet. Religion is more important to him than it is to me, so I pretty much let him guide the children spiritually.

- The type of Islam I keep being surrounded with is "my way or the highway" mentality, and that there is no room for any other faith. I've been told that my mom, who is Christian, will go to hell because she knows about Islam and remains Christian. I've had Muslims tell me my dad will go to hell because he didn't raise us as strict Muslims. Islam is known by its practitioners; how else do we know how Muslims are supposed to behave? By example... and I have yet to see many good ones. The example of Muhammad are outdated, inaccurate, and sometimes downright disturbing... and he's supposed to be the "best" example. Sure, there are many, many beautiful things he did, but I can't wrap my head around many, if not all Hadith.
- I don't think one religion really has the one and only correct answer.
