That's why I do not consider Theology a concept opposite to Science, as I believe that Science could turn out to be of a great help in the study of God.
That's actually what it started out as, before it started uncovering things the Bible disagreed with.

I think you mean the Church, don't you? Especially the Catholic Church which for Catholics, it is supposed to take precedence to the Scriptures.

Theists can use the same method about God. We can never prove the essence of God but improve our knowledge through His acts of Creation. That's why I do not consider Theology a concept opposite to Science, as I believe that Science could turn out to be of a great help in the study of God.

But then again, you are back with another statement that Science demonstrates itself everyday as being the best possible methot we currently have for determining what is true and what isn't.

Another definition of proof is the demonstration of an evidence to be true. If Science is the best method we have to proof what is true from what isn't, how is it that Science can never prove anything?
Why do I have to keep explaining this over and over? If your definition of "proof" is just "a demonstration of evidence being true" then yes, science does prove things in that sense, but that's not what "proof" actually refers to - that is just "demonstration", something which science does all the time. But "proof" is a term never used in science, and nothing in science is ever "proven" beyond a reasonable doubt.

I am sorry but I can't help detecting contradiction in your opinions. The only instance you are free of contradiction is with regards to the advancement of Technology.
The only way you misconstrue my statements as being contradicting is because you don't know what the word "proof" means, nor do you shown any understanding of the scientific method.

Mostly the Church's ideas,(like that the Sun revolved around the Earth) but more modern science has also contradicted the Bible-as-written.

Apparent contradictions, PolyHedral, I have a feeling that Science and Theology are closer than we imagine. It will not surprise me that Science will end up by being the method to come up with most evidences we need for the existence of God.
