Films are getting out of hand with sexual content?

Children are no more disturbed or confused by sex and nudity than they are by eating or mowing the lawn. To a small child everything is a perplexing novelty. It's we, the adults, who teach them what to be shocked at; what to feel ashamed or embarassed about.
On the other hand, children observing violence or cruelty seem to be freaked out regardless of culture.

Whoah, Dallas, your MOM took you to Heavy Metal???? How bizarre! :D That's borderline hentai, that one. I'd be embarrassed and uncomfortable watching it with my parents even now. lol.

Personally, I think the sooner we shed the ideal that sex and nakedness is something to be hidden, the better.

AMEN! i very much agree with you. in france the comercials have BOOB's showing on their soap comercials. here people would label that as horrible porn. the body is nothing to dispise. its beautiful. My step father went to frace and he stayed up late on night and he said that late at night they had soft core porn on TV stations that were open to everyone. The more we condemn the body and its beauty worse things will get sexually. when we try to supress something, in this case sexuality we begin to want it more. let it BE. its natural.

Me too!!! I would never watch that with my children..Or my mother!!!

My mother was just naive..She thought it was a cartoon and therefore can't be all that bad..and then once it started she kept thinking the "bad parts" would end" but they just kept on coming..and coming and coming.LOL!!

She just said Oh well "forget about that part" and pass the pop corn..I swear..

Whats weird is she said if she "had known" she would never have taken us children to that movie..But whats even weirder is she didnt leave once she realized ..and she bought the Heavy Metal Soundtrack album...

I think my mother is a pervert.LOL!!

There's definitely an innate response of revulsion to violence that's hardwired into us, and an innate sense of curiousity over sexuality amongst children as well. I want to be the one to decide what's appropriate for my son to view at the age of two, but I'm far more concerned about his exposure to violence than sexuality. But as for me, as an adult I find both sex and violence fascinating and integral parts of entertainment.

What's the point of a horror movie if there isn't at least one beautiful, near-naked woman fleeing the clutches of something scary?

Perhaps; but there are ways of portraying near naked women (and men) without the heavy underlying and obvious sexual inuendo.

We have had "Love" in films for donkeys years - and that is the point - that now, Love = Sex, and the film producers tend to cut out the middle man, and just portray the sex. Personally, I think it a shame; firstly because it takes all the "romance" and love out of the whole equation - Is that the message we want our children to learn ?

Us teens watch porn, seeing a little boobie flash is nothing.

Yes, I said it. But a lot of you are parents. Shame on you for not knowing!

I'm being sarcastic, Michel. Many of my less-intelligent posts are.

Just because we've gone to one extreme does not mean the proper remedy is to go to the other extreme.

I am not suggesting that, if that's what you mean. I'm merely suggesting that it's pointless (and almost hypocritical in a broader sense) to be stubborn about the forms of sexual expression.

Yeah..if I had a choice ..Id'e rather my child see someone having sex than someone being murdered.

But Im thinking about my 1 year old grandbaby right now..and honestly I'de rather him not see either one.

I dont think young children should watch people humping. It can be scary.A lot scarier than mowing the lawn.IMHO
