I'm sorely sorry to hear you're gone.

I truly wish you all the best and hope you find peace in knowing that since voting is not compulsory in the US Trump probably is not supported by a majority of US citizens.

According to this report Trump only won 49.94% of the vote and 90 million people didn't vote at all;

'As of Monday afternoon, Trump was at 49.94 percent, while Harris was at 48.26, according to the authoritative Cook Political Report’s tracking of results from official sources in states across the country. And we can expect that the Republican’s total will only continue to tick downward as heavily Democratic states on the West Coast finalize their vote tallies.'

Wishing you peace, can't emphasise enough how much you will be missed

So much like my thoughts and emotions. I hope you find peace, wherever you go.

I'm now struggling with a depression that is threatening to take me over. At least I recognize it and am working on a mental posture that will get me through the next few years. Ignore it all? Find something else interesting enough to fill the hole politics would leave? Recognize that, at least for a while, I'm in no personal danger and unlike many I have an escape route if things get really bad? Stay engaged and work for whatever resistance may emerge?

At the moment none of the above has much appeal. I will probably have to let the emotion run its course an just survive (mentally) for a while.

I just reread this. I'm happy to report that the depression has passed and I'm feeling a lot more "normal" now. Yes, I'm still worried about the next four years, but my emotions have adjusted, as I suspected they would.
