Fine Tuning

Fine-tuning is believed by some scientists that's why now they are working on the multiverse model, seriously. However this model is expected as "not falsifiable" as humans can hardly go outside of our own universe to establish experiments to prove or evidence anything.

"Multiverse" is thus the god (who is not falsifiable) for those who seek answers. To put it another way, even science needs such a god in order to harmonize what's been found scientifically and ironically.

It seems that the incredible unlikelihood of our existence given different values require some sort of response. The common ones appear to be,
  1. The values of parameters in the standard model and other theories couldn't have been any different as far as we know.
  2. There are a near infinite number of possible universes and some of them would be likely to have life supporting constants.
  3. It's just a coincidence.
  4. It isn't fine tuned.
  5. God did it.

“I don’t know, but I know that “5” is wrong”

The ,multiverse explanation is easily falsified by the Boltzmann Brain Paradox which in summery states that

1 if the multiverse is true any observation of complexity in the universe is likely to be an illusion (or a dream)

2 the complexity that we observe is real (we are not in the matrix, we are not dreaming)

3 therefore the multiverse as an explanation is likely to be wrong.

As an analogy, if you observe yourself winning the lottery 1000 times in a row, it is more likely that you are just dreaming or hallucinating, than actually winning the lottery 1000 times in a row by chance.

I don't think any of the atheists have said this here.

Do you have anything to add?

1 if the multiverse is true any observation of complexity in the universe is likely to be an illusion (or a dream)
This premise seems a bit iffy. Is there any reason to believe that illusory complexity is more frequent than actual complexity?

Yes Robert Penrose calculated that for every big complex universe like ours there would be 10 ^600 simple universes (say a universe as big as our solar system) ….(we are talking about a number with 600 zeros)

The paradox is that for every observer that exist in a complex universe, there would be trillions over trillions of observers that live in a simple universe /, when to sleep / and are currently dreaming that are living in a complex universe.

So statistically speaking it much more likely that you live in simple universe, and at this moment you are simply dreaming (or hallucinating) that you live in a more complex universe.

It´s pretty much like, when you observe yourself walking through a wall, the default conclusion is that you are just in a dream.

This conclusion presupposes the multiverse model typically proposed as an explanation for the FT of the universe. So I you reject that multiverse model, you don’t have to accept the conclusion (that you are in a dream)
