That's good. And it seems like it started raining here once you'd left or around then. :D There should be more on the way in the coming days. No more drought!
Yes, so I was told!

Any special plans for the wedding? :D
We are going to have a nice dinner after the wedding with our close family and Gaelle's friends and colleagues in London, they will play music by our choosing (expect Natacha Atlas, Cohen etc.), the wedding itself is going to be at the local registry office.
In the summer we will do a wedding party in Jaffa Israel, for my entire family and friends.

Dan and Gaelle, CONGRATULATIONS! What an exciting time in your lives!
Thank you!!
We got to light the 8th Chanukkah candle this week, receive the Jewish Sabbath, and light a nice and modest Christmas tree each evening.

Dan, here's a book I heartily recommend now that you're going to be a Londoner. As an archeologist and historian, I think you will find it a fascinating guidebook to many lesser known spots of interest in that fascinating city:

Amazon.com: London : The Biography (9780099422587): Peter Ackroyd: Books
Thank you for the reference Kathryn!

You never know - maybe my husband and I can join you for a cup o tea when we come through London this upcoming summer!
I would like that.

Keep the pictures coming! WE WANT WEDDING PICS!
You shall receive! ;)

Today I was the British consulate in Tel Aviv picking up my approved Visa, or more precisely my marriage visa.
On December 6th I'll be on my flight to Heathrow. this week has been and is a week in which my friends meet me for congrats and farewells. on Tuesday I've dined with good friends from the archaeology department, tonight I am meeting my friends from my original team in the Israeli army, guys who served with me in the Gaza strip, the West Bank, East Jerusalem and during the second Palestinian uprising and with most of whom I've still served in reserves duties for the last 10 years, out of this fine band I am the last to get married. on the weekend I'm having a 'bechlores party' with another circle of close friends, some of whom I've known since childhood of them I am the last to get married as well, their wives, who are my good friends as well are going to join us in the weekend.
My soon to be wife, Gaelle and I, still talk about going back to Israel sooner or later. but we will start in London, where Gaelle has been living and working in the last years.
So from next week, I will be logging on RF from a British server!

Like Quaggy i've been trying to think of something witty to say but all i can come up with is Be'hatzlacha and Mazal tov for your future which isn't witty at all.
There is a possibility of a white Christmas which is rare nowadays so there should be some good pictures for you Camera.

We did get the Christmas gifts sorted out, and Jew boy has his first Christmas tree to light each evening :D so it can't be all bad.

Don't forget the Mistletoe and the Yule log that are from our pagan past you can get these from your nearest wood or copse and of course Goose for xmas day which is the traditional dinner.

And interestingly there is only one Bird that eats the Berries of the Mistletoe ,the Mistle Thrush then spreads the Mistletoe to other Trees by dumping on them,ok i lied when i said it was interesting:p

EVERYTHING is interesting...;)

In fact the Bird you mention has to hop along the branch a few times to snap the sticky threads that bind the Mistletoe seeds together...even though the whole lot has already passed through the Bird's digestive system...amazin...
