Florida bans terms 'climate change', 'sustainability' & 'global warning'

call it what you will.....Climate change, global warming, Adaptation, El Niño effect, horse pucky, or that weird weather thingy...face it, argue about it, point fingers and blame others or deny it..... it is happening, mean temperatures are rising, ice is melting, and sea levels are rising too....but on the bright side, if you act now, you could buy the future beach front property in Georgia and you Great grandchildren with thank you .......

Now there are multiple reasons for "Climate change" and there are some interesting things that happen while this goes on. one of which is some places actually get colder... and that, in and of itself can effect weather patterns. The problem is that the climate is so complex that it makes it really hard to predict what will actually happen...and the computer simulations they run to try and predict this can take years..... either way it will change... so people might want to look into what happens when you introduce large amounts of fresh water (melting ice) into salt water (Oceans)... might also want to look into something called the oceanic conveyor belt thermohaline circulation too...... now please...continue arguing...it accomplishes nothing...but it can be entertaining at times to watch

You still haven't backed up any of your generalizations with facts.

You have obviously not tried to find out the facts for yourself.
Virtually every scientific report and commission over the past few years has supported global warming being substantially caused by mankinds use of fossil fuels and the dispersal of chemical agents into the atmosphere.

I tend not to argue with donkeys, they do not have the capacity to understand. And refuse to budge even when prodded in the right direction. Nor do I find repetitive and nonsensical braying especially edifying to listen to.

We also know how bad pollution is for the environment and health. We also know we will run out of fossil fuels (though estimations widely and wildly vary on how much longer they will last). We know we have to make the switch, but the anti-science and anti-intellectual crowd gets worked up because they can't have it their way. They deny the science behind homosexuality, gender identity, poverty, evolution, climate change, crime deterrence, and always turn it into an "agenda."

Cite one report that says that there is irrevocable proof that there is global warming (which even the staunchest GW advocate has backed away from) and that is was caused by man. No "maybes" or "we feel" or "our models may show"; give us some meat and potatoes.

Soo...how much time fuel time do we have left? One year? Ten years? One hundred years? Again there is no scientific evidence to back up your claim. We can speculate til the cows come home but it won't necessarily make it true.

You could google it yourself you know..... its easy

The numbers being thrown out are estimtes 2025, 2052, 2070, 2088 but that depends on what you are calling fossil fuels..... it is not only oil. It also depends on whether or not other deposits are found and most feel they will be...however I don't know anyone on the planet that is in the fossil fuel business or in science that does not know ad accept the fact that fossil fuel is a "Finite" resource...meaning it will run out...so 1 year, 10 years, 100 years does not matter... it will run out..so you can either say the hell with the people of the future, I don't care because it "might" not effect me much...or you can face the reality of it and see if there is anything that can be done.....

But there is a much more important shortage on our horizon and that it drinkable water..... population growth and pollution is bringing that to the forefront rather quickly....

But I have been in multiple discussions on this topic on and off the web and I have discovered that most have no desire to change their views on the topic either way (Global warming is Armageddon or Global warming is a lie), no matter what scientific evidence is produced... so I am pretty much done here...have a nice day

We have no irrevocable proof about anything at all.
That is not the way science works.
The sun may not even rise tomorrow
I have no proof to offer that it will.
The best scientists can say about anything, is that the data supports it and that trends can be measured.
You are in luck
The data supports and the trends show
That the sun will rise tomorrow.

But Global warming will continue.

Can you cite a reference to back up your claim as, on face value, this makes absolutely no sense at all.
Errr. This is some pretty simple math. Before China really started industrializing, there was really not much there to affect the climate, while the United States, Britain and the like were already very far ahead. But since China has been opening coal/gas plant after coal/gas plant, their output has obviously increased tremendously, and given the sheer size of their population. The United States probably ranks 4th or 5th now. I can't check at the moment, but the top 5 for emissions are probably something like this;

1. China
2. India
3. Russia
4. America
5. Brazil(or perhaps Argentina)

Because you missed when I said this:
(though estimations widely and wildly vary on how much longer they will last)
I never said there was a scientific claim as to when we'll run out, only varying estimations on when and the fact that eventually we will at some point in time run out.

So we're dealing with unsubstantiated rumor, innuendo, and snake oil? Right?

No, we are dealing with a hard reality that we are going to run out. Some estimates put this time frame while most of us today will still be alive, some of them far enough out that we won't have to worry about it, but our children's children will. Regardless of knowing when or not it will happen it will happen.

It's worse than that, really.
The easily accessible stuff is known. Adding to the supply means going to more difficult and dangerous options. Deep water rigs, fracking, tundra fields, shale, coal gasification, it won't end. It just gets more expensive, dangerous and dirty all the time.

No, it's the cold equations.
At some point the unsustainable collapses. What we're doing is obviously unsustainable.

Obviously.
You can keep lying to yourself, but it won't change the truth.

That still doesn't excuse the hazards that come from pollution, the fact fossil fuels are in limited supply, and the fact that something must be done in order to come up with a replacement for these sources of energy.
And if you read the article, it states that this opinion is not highly regarded, and other explanations exist. But even assuming the position is true, that does not solve other issues related to utilizing fossil fuels as energy.

If that is the way you like to describe science so be it.
Perhaps you better throw away all your fruits of science if it distresses you so much

All I'm asking for is just one verifiable source where someone creditable proves global warming (or climate change if you prefer) exists as a cataclysmic reality, and/or it's man made. That's all.

Oh for crying out loud, you spend all this time typing here, you could find what you are asking for all by yourself. All you need to do to find credible, verifiable reports is use GOOGLE.....try searching NASA and NOAA.... for starters... try a few Universities too..... I nor anyone else should waste their time searching the web and posting copious links to spoon feeding someone who really has no desire to change their uneducated opinion....... you have a nice day

But some people don't want to know because it doesn't fit into their political paradigm.
