Hands down, Florida is the BEST! We have more springs and miles more sea coast than Tennessee. We have more fossils too, and I can't remember the last time that MTV did a spring break in Tennessee? Football is better here too, and heck we have the National Champion Basketball team here as well!

Comparing Florida to Tennessee, is like comparing oranges to persimmons. :D

Hmmm...

Tough descision...
Siesta Key is wonderful! (We used to go on vacation there every year.)

Though I absolutely LOVE Tennessee, have you by chance ever seen Sewanee Christiangirl, visited the Univesity of the South? So beautiful, I wish I could attend there :(

Uggg! I can't decide.

Ok, so my friend Christa and I are having this contest. She's trying to prove that more people like Florida, I'm trying to prove that more people like Tennessee. So which place would you rather live and why?

I say Tennesee.

Palm trees are not real trees.
Florida is too hot.
Florida has palmetto bugs, which are evil and conspiring to take over the world.
Florida gets slammed by hurricanes.
Florida drivers are almost as nutz as Georgia ones.

Tennesee has mountains.
Tennesee has real trees.
Tennesee is not unbearably hot in the summer, except for Chattanooga.
Tennesee is more centrally located, so I can travel more easily to other parts of the country.
Tennesee doesn't have traffic, except maybe in Knoxville during a gully washer.

And I'm sure if I wait until later when I get really silly, I will think of something else to add.

If I had to choose to live one place or the other, I'd choose Florida. But, to be perfectly honest, it would take an act of Congress to get me to move anywhere in the South.

Weather too hot for you?

Nah, Peru, Indiana has the absolute worst drivers in the world. Not only do they go 12- 20 MPH on average, they will slow down to below 5 MPH to go over rail road tracks, whether they are in service or not. And not to mention they don't pay attention going that slow. I honestly don't think Florida, or Georgia drivers are that bad.

Tennesee has mountains.
I can't say mountains are a reason for me wanting to move to Tennessee. If I wanted mountains, I would move to Colorado.

Reminds me of the George Strait song...
All my ex's live in Texas,
And Texas is a place I'd dearly love to be.
But all my ex's live in Texas
And that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee. Rosanna's down in Texarcana; wanted me to push her broom,
And sweet Ilene's in Abilene; she forgot I hung the moon,
And Allison in Galveston somehow lost her sanity,
And Dimples who now lives in Temple's got the law lookin’ for me.

Chorus:
All my ex's live in Texas,
And Texas is a place I'd dearly love to be.
But all my ex's live in Texas
And that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee.
I remember that old Frio river where I learned to swim.
And it brings to mind another time where I wore my welcome thin.
My transcendental meditation, I go there each night,
But I always come back to myself long before daylight.

Chorus:
All my ex's live in Texas,
And Texas is a place I'd dearly love to be.
But all my ex's live in Texas
And that's why I hang my hat in Tennessee.

Some folks think I'm hidin',
It's been rumored that I died,
But I'm alive and well in Tennessee.

I don't know... MTV spring break specials make me want to run in the other direction.

Same thing here. Drinking, skimpy clothes (or no clothes at all), and just general foolishness and sin. Though I love vacationing in Florida, I would never go down there during spring break.

Fact is, Florida is just overun with tourists (like myself). I would say that less than 25 or maybe even 15% of the people in the state were actually born there. People move in from virtually billions of other places. And Tennessee just isn't like that. Everyone in our small towns know each other, people have been living here for generations, and the most exciting thing that happens is the main street festival. It's just more...laid-back, I guess, and there's a country feel that can't be surpassed. Plus, there's just an unamable smell to Tennessee air on a summer night that you won't find anywere else. Flowers, and freshly-mown grass, and maybe someone grilling out, and crickets chirping......I'm rambling on and on.

I guess if you live in the place where you were born and have grown up, you're bound to think it is the best place in the world.

Not really... Only at the theme parks and a few beaches. There is LOTS of Florida that few people visit. Lots of room, fish and sunshine! :D Best of all? NO COLD and NO SNOW! :D :D :D

I smell something....
If the economy was not a factor then Florida would win hands down. I have never lived in Tennessee but I have visited there. It is pretty but I like the Florida weather and the beach. There also seems to be a bigger variety of things to do. The only problem is that everything is so darn expensive there and unless you are retired and independently wealthy then chances are you aren't making enough to enjoy any of the good stuff.

I live in TN and it is ausome! (I know i spelled that wrong) I've visited FL many a times and it's nice but too hot or too wet. Tennessee is sooooooo much better, we get everything and not too many extremes. And if it's water you want then there are many lakes and stuff with sandy little beaches. Ifanyone asked me I would tell them to move to Chattanooga ( I lived there most of my life) or near Nashville. Or move to Texas.
