Hi all, I am interested in knowing more about LHP.

Can someone explain to me a bit about LHP? For instance, what is its origins? What is its scripture? Does it more closely resemble Abrahamic religions or pagan religions? Is it polytheistic or non-theistic or both depending on the individual? What are some of the main tenets of LHP?

For instance, what is its origins?

I think LHP is as old as religions themselves. All known religions have some kind of LHP version in them, either to be despised, walked or otherwise built in the system.

What is its scripture?

Individuals decide what they read and where they get ideas from, but I think there are some books that have made the ground work. I suggest reading Lords of the Left Hand Path, it covers it all quite nicely.

Does it more closely resemble Abrahamic religions or pagan religions?

Depends on individual, but RF members tend to be more "pagan".

Is it polytheistic or non-theistic or both depending on the individual?

Depends on the individual. LHP doesn´t require any religious aspects around it.

What are some of the main tenets of LHP?

Church of Satan and Temple of Set are the ones that are most often referred to in LHP traditions, so I think those are the most significant ones.

Xafwak gives some good info. It is quite difficult to trace the origins of the LHP, but some of the most ancient origins can be found in the cults and priesthoods of Set and other Neteru in ancient Egypt.

In my opinion the Temple of Set is the only modern lagit school of the Black Arts in the world. It is also the only Satanic religious institution fully recognized by the U.S. government as a lagitimate church.

Actually, the true origin of the LHP was the deliberate infusion of the Essence of the Prince of Darkness, in aeons past, within that which would become humankind. Some also call this "infusion" the "missing link" in human evolution.

If you want to learn more about the LHP visit the Temple of Set official website www.xeper.org.

Thanks guys. So what is the main philosophy of LHPs? What is the goal of life or does it tell you what is beyond this life?
Is it true that you see the God portrayed in the Bible to be evil?

Again see www.xeper.org.

Code:
What is the goal of life or does it tell you what is beyond this life?

As a Setian LHPather, my primary goal in Life is to Xeper= to Become my Higher Self, to Work towards Becoming the Truth of my own Being. This is not only a life long journey, it is also an eternal one. However, there are some of us, and they do have a point, that this life is it - that there is no life beyond this life. The LHP, however, is an extremely individualistic Path.

First of all "good" and "evil" are not absolutes. But I'm not going to get into a big long philosophical rant on the subject right now.:)
We do not accept the existence of the god of any religion, be it Chrstianity, Islam, Hindu, etc. To some of us, these god forms that you speak of are concidered gods of death. As one must wait until he dies before receiving his great reward in some afterlife pipe dream.

We do not condemn others for their beliefs - "to each his own" is one of our mottos.

Good and evil are but personal perspectives. If this god were to be real i would see it as a controlling, cruel, and deceptive being offering false happiness. God is similar to a fascist dictator. God promises grand things like: Happiness, peace, fulfillment, security, but God demands whole-hearted, unquestionable allegiance, and blind faith or you are an enemy of the kingdom and will have you destroyed! What a blessing of unconditional love... He uses fear to control his followers (much like Stalin) and never seems to come through on any prayers. (with my personal experience as a child and tales of others)

I'll stick with the powers of self, darkness and earth.

"So what is the main philosophy of LHPs?" To follow thy self and decide whats "right" personally. Not to bow down before any god or person, but to ascend above all others!
