Footage of George Floyd arrest video leaked

He did nothing to deserve being shot. Comply or die means that all instructions are arbitrary. When we have no accountability for cops then not only are all police interactions arbitrary Simon Says games but we can be killed even if we play. Police lethal action should only be used when there is a clear and imminent threat present.

Floyd is the guy that died for lack of breath

bystanders claim the knee against his back as he was pinned to the ground was the cause

but

George was complaining he couldn't breathe....BEFORE
he was placed face down on the ground

I suspect.....it is my opinion
he had a panic attack
and it progressed to a heart attack

bad timing

I suspect the judge withheld the videos to try to reduced the trial by (social) media and lynch mob that the likes of the Daily Mail would love to encourage (as long as they got the exclusive on the video of that too). I mean, if you're going to run trials on message boards, why both having a criminal justice system at all?

What do you think are the odds that Mr. Floyd's death would be thoroughly investigated if it had not been captured on video and then widely disseminated?

Bull****. You wouldn't die of asphyxiation from a panic attack. It gives you the feeling of "i can't breath" but the fact that he was murdered by a cop who laid on his neck with a knee is not changed. If I say I have a stomach ache and then get stabbed in the stomach I would still have died from the stabbing.

That is totally irrelevant to what is being discussed here. This isn't about this specific case or the rampant racism in the US. The case was already being investigated and indeed had gone to trial when the material in question was leaked.

This is about evidence in any criminal case being selectively leaked by anyone to the media during a trial to manipulate the public opinion towards a particular conclusion (regardless of whether it i legitimate or not) for whatever reasons (political, personal, financial etc.). It's up to you whether you defend that in any and all circumstances or in none.

Sorry, I'm too old for your BS. It is indeed to the point.
How is it relevant? The case was already being investigated, indeed had already gone to trial before the video in question had been leaked (part of the reason it is so problematic). The leak has zero impact on there being an investigation and (hopefully) zero impact on the outcome of the trial (since the jury will see all the evidence regardless of whether it is leaked). The only thing selective leaking of evidence impacts is public opinion, and not necessarily in a good way (especially considering the "selective" element).

There is a separate question about which incidents are investigated. Something going viral and being picked up by mainstream media will be much more likely to trigger an investigation (though that isn't necessarily a good thing) and something being caught on video makes it much more likely to appear in the media (which is also not necessarily a good thing). That's a valid topic of discussion, but it's not directly relevant to what was actually raised in the OP here, which is specifically about evidence in a ongoing trial being leaked. That evidence wouldn't need to be video for it to be equally problematic.

no really...I do believe his emotional state worsened....quickly

as a martial artist.....I've had a knee in my back
only God knows how many times

so no.....the situation overwhelmed the guy

you could blame the cops for negligence
that would work

How a out murder? The coroner's report is in. He didn't die from anxiety. He died from not being able to breath.

It seems that cops kill quite a few people in this manner.
I'd never heard of Tony Timpa...he never made big news.

In the video, you can see cops laughing & joking about
possibly killing him. Well, they did.
