For Christians: Where Do the Dinosaurs Fit In?

Starfish

Please no sarcasm
As Christians, I assume we all believe the Bible is real. But how do you figure in the dinosaurs? This could easily slip into an debate about evolution, but I 'd like to keep it specific to dinosaurs.
I have my theories that work quite nicely with the Bible. What do YOU think?

Sorry if this has been done. And hopefully I'm putting it in the right place.

Dinosaurs are part of God's wonderful creation. Thankfully, humans have never had to run from them.

You first, Starfish. I've got my own theories, too, but I'd like to hear yours first, if you don't mind. And then I'll give you mine.

Ok. (I actually got this from a friend and it made a lot of sense.)

Before the fall of Adam there was no death, so the dinosaurs had to either exist with Adam, or after him. I think they existed much later, even after the flood. During, and for a while after the flood, the earth was in geologic turmoil, with things happening much faster than usual. Like when we read about the continents moving, or at Christ's death, which are other examples of periods of geologic turmoil.

So did Noah then have the dinosaurs on his arc? Yes, but they were obviously not the size as we think of them. (I do have to sneak evolution in here a bit.) Evolution does exist within species. Humans today are larger than they were a few centuries ago. If conditions are favorable for a particular species, it will thrive and evolve larger. So possibly the conditions on the earth, immediately after the flood, favored the original dinosaur species so well that it thrived and rather quickly evolved to be quite huge.
But the earth was still in its rapid change-mode, conditions continued to change and eventually the dinosaurs died out. With such a large earth and so few people here (because of the flood) they could have well stayed out of each other's way.

That's a brief version. I find it interesting when religion doesn't necessarily contradict science. But this is just a theory.

Wow, I had never thought of it like that. 'Religion/faith' and 'dinosaurs' have always been quite separate concepts, for me. I had never thought about how they could coexist.

Doesn't anyone else have any theories?
The Bible is real. Dinosaurs were real. As a "creationist" how do you explain them?

oh come on people! dinosaurs are either extinct for millions of years or have evolved into birds, no true man has ever seen a dinosaur they died out about 58 million years before man even got started now what was contemporary is avian evolved birds and big ones,
unless they are an allegory of course thats it there not real at all they are ,metaphors to the fallen angels.

I believe dinosaurs existed millions of years ago. And they died out millions of years ago. I'm not sure whether they existed while Adam was in the garden or before the garden was created. It depends on how many millions of years Adma and Eve were in the Garden. But anyway, I used to wonder what the purpose of dinosaurs and ancient life would be and then it hit me...fossil fuels. God created those things millions of years ago so we could have fossil fuels today.

So why aren't dinosaurs mentioned in the bible? Well why would God mention something to ancient prophets that wouldn't be discovered for several thousand years. Revealing dinosaurs to prophets so they could include them in the bible would be pointless. So in God's wisdom hHe didn't tell ancient prophets about them.

Of course you also have to consider that death didn't enter the world until Adam and Eve partook of the fruit. That little bit throws a wrench in the whole theory.

so that explains it fossil fuels, of course god would know we would need fuel for our cars in the future .

Kind of a big wrench. Thanks for sharing!
