My parents came to this country dirt poor when the US was open to immigration. They worked their butts off making a living and becoming Americans. They would have been murdered if they had not been allowed to enter. Those who advocate a closed border are to me advocating that my parents should have been allowed to die and thus for me to never have been born. It's totally personal

My policy on immigration is directly related to what my parents and others in their generation experienced.

I'm not advocating lawbreaking. I am advocating first not punishing children for what their parents did, aka dreamers. I also advocate those who came in illegally are convicted because they broke the law but not necessarily kicked out. Some have done what my parents did and their accomplishments should be part of the process.

And to me Trump has advocated closed borders except to those with money.
