Sure you can point out some things that most people include in their picture of "culture". The statue of Liberty is one of them. But that is only part of their picture. On a wide range of things they differ with other people. That is why there is no "our culture".

That the statue of Liberty is shared does not even mean that people attribute the same meaning to it.

I'd take the gum if offered,its just that I haven't heard of this before. Oh...and I don't like garlic, won't use it.

I think having bad breathe and talking in someone's face is an unwritten rule. Most women I know wouldn't speak to a guy with bad breathe and I've learned over the years that if you are offered a bar of soap, clean shirt, or some gum its usually people telling you something.

TMI buddy! But good point nonetheless, I can easily say the same of the women. I've been with some very attractive women with "smelly" private parts. I guess a lot believe being very attractive wards off bacteria and yeast infections eww
