Hehe, Jensa--

I can only imagine what he must have been thinking when you sat him next to your fox pelt.

"Oh dear god...Get me outta here!" ;)

I love your sculpture--its very contemplative.

I agree it is wonderful. Especially for only one of your first works. What method did you use, (and I forget the proper terms...) The one where you add the clay, or the one where you take the clay away??
I molded him into the basic shape and took clay away from there. To be honest, I don't know what they're called either. :D I'm a bit twitchy about adding clay on, since it can fall off in the kiln unless it's done well.

Yeah, I never enjoyed using slip, so I used the "taking away" method as well. It was just easier that way I guess.

That's cool, Jensa! I love playing with clay, but I don't get a chance to do it. I made a hippo back in about 1995...eeks, that's 10 years ago! Anyway, I had to bring him home on the plane, and his ear broke off (but I glued it back on and you can't tell). I entered him in the local show the next year and got second prize. :p I've still got some of the things I made as a kid (i.e. I was about 3 or 4), when mum was doing an arts course at the local Uni.

Yea, clay is fun to play with :D I find something almost spiritual about making and decorating pots and statues...

You should make a vixen to keep him company (you did mention he was a male fox...)

Heh, I've made a grey fox state that I still need to paint glaze on... she might be keeping him company. :D (I rather like her. She's got a cloak on)
