Well , I have done some courses with course era ,they are very well structured , interactive ,under highly qualified and experienced instructors , under the banner of reputed universities .
Though they are not college course which award you a degree , but are certificate course and receive a certificate upon completion.
Great to enhance ones knowledge over various subjects , have no pre requirements and are completely free and online.

@Quetzal @Brickjectivity @Wu Wei have any of you registered or used any of these services?
Yes. I have used EdX. Its pretty awesome. You usually have the choice of taking the course for free or registering (usually 50$). They then check your ID and once you successfully complete a course will give you a certificate saying they have verified you took their course. Or you can not pay and still get a certificate, albeit not a verified certificate. Generally you study with professors. Some of the courses are through universities that would normally be prohibitively expensive. Some are through Microsoft.

Be polite and keep up with the class. Just because the course will be open for...8 months don't try to take the entire 8 unless you stay in communication with the teachers. Let them know what your timetable is.

PM me if you see a course that looks interesting. I would like to know.
