Future of LGBT

Disgusting article. The part I like least is the whole "it's for the children" bit. I was a child once, and I can tell you in one word how helpful rigidly enforced heterosexuality was in creating "stable" relationships in my family and hometown. I can tell you in two words and a finger how "protected" I felt by the hatred of adults against gays as a child. I can tell you with a photo what it means to me that this article pretends to suddenly care about the poor at the end, when so many homeless kids are homeless because their awful parents can't handle who they're dating like adults.

Too bad for you and all the other haters, it's not going anywhere. We've been around for centuries and our modern culture just in America goes back for over 100 years. LGBT culture and the community is not going to splinter or anything. We've always had infights and the selfish backstabbers who only care about the rights of their little corner will go their own way and promptly wither away. The little separatist movements never last long. Too full of hate and no fun or love. There's been arch-conservative transsexual separatists, heteronormative privileged gay men trying to separate themselves from the queens and the "freaks", man-hating radical lesbian separatists, etc. All of those movements are small niche movements. Sometimes they have their moment of influence, but it never lasts that long. Their ideas don't catch on with younger people and they're shoved off into the margins and forgotten. It's like how hardly anyone remembers the conflict between transsexuals and transvestites in the '50s and so on, hardly anyone remembered Virginia Charles Prince when she kicked the bucket not too long ago.

And so it goes. Most of us are too busy enjoying diversity, making friends with each other, supporting each other and having a good time. And to try to argue that the LGBT community and our culture is somehow going to go away completely is utterly laughable. The ***** who wrote that article is just one of the gaggle of bitter bigots who is mad that they lost the fight against gays and are losing the fight against trans people. They're angry that they're running out of minorities to persecute and demonize, so they fantasize about some future revolution where the "normal" people "rise up" against the "perverts" and "deviants". Wah wah.

Homophobia and transphobia are what is dying out. That article is wrong, and it won't happen. But what may happen is we may get a Blazing Saddles type of movie, but instead of making fun of racism and racists, it will be making fun of homophobia/transphobia and homophobes/transphobes - things like the OP article and its author will become comedy cannon fodder.
I'd take a shot to the inevitable demise of this prejudice and bigotry, but I have no alcohol so someone will have to take it for me.
