I watched it on the News,i am glad he was caught but i wonder what the next regime will be like if they are prepared to dish out the same justice as Gaddafi by killing him like that.

I only wish to see a similar fall to Al-Asad, may God humiliate every arrogant tyrant.

Let's hope they move to democracy and proper institutions of a civic society.

Even "civic societies" kill people who have done evil without a trial. They go into other countries and carry out killings all the time.

it could be argued they're not very civic then. or maybe they're simply "otherwise civic". or it's simply a matter of subjective definition.

why did eichmann get a process? why not simply shoot him? surely not because he might have a good alibi. I like to think there is a point to doing it as correctly as possible. and as long as there are people who know that, the others are barbarians, no matter how civic they deem themselves. it's not like they tried real hard to not be pigs about it, but had no choice but kill him on the spot. so bleh to all that, especially the photos of his bloody corpse. I'm not saying he didn't deserve it, he did that plentyfold to others. but still. bleh.

I hope they set up an actual democracy now. It's said Eqypt is in a military state. Too bad!

From what I understand, Libya has little experience with democracy and few civic institutions, and it's largely a tribal society.
Historically, when an occupying or autocratic power falls you get a power vacuum followed by civil strife, war or, at least, a reshuffling of society.

I hope these newly restructured N. African states get it together and manage to form free and benign societies, but I wouldn't put any money on it.

Agreed, Even more disappointed that the enlightened and wizened nations of Europe voiced their support for this.
I detest that man, But he deserved a trial not to be slaughtered on the hood of a car like an animal.

ofcorse it is only ' heinously evil' and 'tyrannical terroristic' when people on one side of the globe get killed like that, let the same happen to a muslim, and it is, a mere disappointment.

I agree. I'm not a big fan of lynch mobs, nor the degree to which we become desensitized to them -- which may be the real danger.
I agree.
His killing is been reported here as something good, bloody pictures on the newspapers. It's not right. Like someone posted previously even Eichmann had a trial.
I don't accept that it's ok to kill anyone - but I think that even those who do consider it acceptable should concede that justice being done is not sufficient. Justice needs to be seen to be done.
