I voted No because I think this kind of thing happens so often in prisons or other such circumstances, and where it is more about expediency than much else. As a child I had 'sexual relationships' with an older boy, but I neither requested, desired, or gave my knowing consent to such, and even though it did confuse me for some years after, I just came to see this as a physical act and hence I disregarded what happened as being just a childhood experience having little value. I am no more homosexual now than I was then.

But the connotation is there, when it might simply be a physical act, as it was seen in my case. One might be abusive - as in power relationships or forced - or simply out of convenience - as probably occurs in prisons. The labelling hardly helps. For example, the modern tendency for more heterosexual couples to have anal sex. And such perhaps driven by modern porn on the internet or not.

No one said you did, but by your own logic, a straight man can engage in anal sex, it would just have to be with a woman

In your mind perhaps. What about any trans interactions, where one person may have all the appearances of being female apart from having a penis. What kind of sex does this person have with a male or female?

If two people with a penis engage in sexual acts, its gay sex.

If two people with a vagina engage in sexual acts, its lesbian sex.

If two people, one with a penis and one with a vagina engage in a sexual acts, its straight sex.... even if the guy does anal sex on her. Thats my opinion

Two straight men in certain environments may be compelled to have sex. (Prison springs to mind.)

The question is twofold:

Is the act that these two gentlemen engaged in "gay"?

Are they themselves gay?

I'm betting that (even in a prison situation) both answers vary from case to case. I personally don't see answering either question as worthwhile. Maybe that's what Shadowwolf meant.

Not sure it's strictly that simple unless we reduce people to their genitals in regards to sexual attraction and orientation axes, because there's such a thing as poly and pansexual that, from what I gather, don't care about genitals, arguably romantic orientation more the focus, but attraction nonetheless in that intimate way.

Gay=lesbian, the distinction is needless if you're already dividing people up in terms of gendered terms: man and woman. Two men=gay in your view, two women should also = gay, because gay is not a masculine exclusive thing

What about bi people as well?
