Huh. I quite like this. An extremely interesting modernized take on the Christ story. Though I think that is an incredibly stupid haircut he has.

I was kinda expecting a plan for a homoerotic version of the Mel Gibson S&M classic.
:)

I find a bit of irony though.
When I was young and learning how to think the first thing to go was Santa Claus. The second was the Gibsonesque version of the Christ story I was taught.
Once I had outgrown my socially awkward geekness, I became one of the most privileged humans to ever walk the face of the Earth. I was a tall white US male with a good family, job, education, looks, and money. Why would I care about Jesus' message?

Then I came out of the closet. Suddenly I became a hellhound freak, and a danger to the children and all that was godly and decent in society. I finally understood Jesus' message of radical inclusiveness. My theology didn't change much really.
I Got Jesus.

You're bothering to get dishy about the Gay Christ's haircut? Does that help explain your avatar's Farrokh Bulsara-styled mustache?

What are you implying..T_T
I would have to say that in my opinion this is blasphemy and a mockery of Christ.
I'm almost positive words almost identical to that were said by the Rabbis of Jesus' time.

"That in my opinion is a blasphemy & mockery of our Messiah.."

I know I am inviting a malicious joke upon myself, but so be it...

I like the modernization of the imagery. No idea why ZooGirl dislikes it. But is there any way to tell that this relates to homosexuality somehow?

Yeah, I am asking. I have no sense...

I was expecting something cringe-worthy but it's actually very tastefully done.

I think it's about Mathew Shepard.

How, exactly?

"40 And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.’" - Matthew 25:40

It's sobering to contemplate how Jesus would have been treated if he'd opted to incarnate himself into our <<<ahem>>> modern world. He was known to have associated with all sorts of socially marginalized types back in the day ... so who is to say that he wouldn't have done the same thing today? He also went out of his way to thumb his nose at the self-proclaimed religious establishment of his day.

Is anyone going to argue that homosexuals aren't both marginalized and despised by the religious establishment(s) of our era?

Is it at all difficult to imagine Jesus as a gay-friendly pariah taking a whip to the churches that feature their own Starbucks franchise operating under the roof?

...

He might not have opted to materialize as a gay man, but he'd almost certainly have associated openly with gay folks, thus drawing the ire of the religious establishment.
