Gay sentenced to prison. How do you feel?

You are about as funny as a three dollar bill. Christians don't hate sinners. We hate the sin because God hates it. Of course the evangelists were appalled by the sentences. However even the general public knows enough to find fault with the Catholic Church for allowing priests to abuse boys homosexually. I don't think the punishment for that should be any less than for a man raping a little girl.

I think homosexual acts in public should be treated the same way that hookers are treated. Lock them up for a day to remind them that society views their behavior as wrong.

Oh please. Evangelicals are some of the biggest modern day offenders of spreading hate, and if you expect anyone to believe that they're anything but happy over the sentencing of a couple of gay guys to prison, you are shamefully naive.

I think that homophobia is unwarranted and ridiculously stupid. People are people even though some might be better examples of people than others. Every single person has the same need to love and be loved, and if you find someone who fills that need who cares what's hiding in their pants?

I wonder if the hateful homophobic bigots who spout this kind of drivel actually think they believe it, and/or whether they think people are stupid enough to fall for this kind of utter bs.

I agree stranger. They may say they hate the sin, but their actions show they hate the sinner. Like my stepmother man, she may be my stepmother, but she is hateful towards gay people. Not toward me, she knows my dad won't allow that, but she is very hateful toward other gays. When I ask her why, she says: "Well God hates them. He's going to burn them in hell."

I don't think God hates gay people. God would be a big *** hypocrite if he hated gay people because he wants us to love everyone. Really, why would a supreme being lower itself to such petty emotions as hate? Isn't he a little too busy making sure the world keeps spinning and we don't kill every aspect of his creation with nuclear weapons?

I don't believe that you will find too many married christians who have not indulged in anal and oral sex and enjoyed it, so the sin you refer to cannot be the sexual act, but must be the love of one man toward another man, or the love of one woman to another woman.

Why do you care what some person who has nothing to do with you does with their private sexual life? Who gives a damn what someone else's sexual orientation is? So long as they aren't trying to force themselves onto you (this applies to both straights and gays) and aren't hurting anyone then there's no reason for you to be upset. The way you're looking at things is very very close-minded and I'm embarrassed for you. The fact that you think someone should be locked up for loving someone else is so ludicrous that it doesn't even merit serious contemplation and I'm really glad you don't run the government Muffled.

One, pedophilia and homosexuality are totally and absolutely unrelated.

Gays don't molest children no more than heteroes molest children.

PEDOPHILES molest children, not gays or heteroes.

At elast get your facts straight and look like a semi-educated hater.

Secondly, the whole "hate the sin love the sinner" bull-poop comes off as quite arrogant, and no one outside of the Evangelical community buys it for even a New York minute.

That phrase is a failed attempt to justify hating an individual for an inherent part of their nature. It's no better than if being a ginger was a sin, and you peeps tried to say the same thing.

Lastly, where'd you get the whole "public" thing, and who is suggesting that people shouldn't be punished for any public display of sexual intercourse regardless of the genders involved?

You hate the sin, but you love the sinner, right?
Say if somebody you loved suddenly developed green eyes (sometimes they can change as someone grows up), and you didn't like that they had green eyes. Would you tell them every day, "I hate your green eyes."? Is that "loving" to you?
Do you remind anyone that you love, every day, of any faults about them that bother you? Do you really find that "loving?"
Would you want someone you love to remind you, every day, of the things that they hate about you?
Hell, would you want any random stranger to come up to you, after seeing you do something that they don't approve of and doesn't actually affect them, and tell you that they don't like it? Would that be something that you find appropriate?

I dunno about you, but I'd find that, not only un-loving, but also arrogant, bigoted, and insulting.

I've heard of only one Christian that actually practices what they preach. And she is the mother of a lesbian Wiccan. She still loves her daughter with all her heart. And she makes no signs of disapproval when she sees her. She even attended a gay pride parade, and gave a hug to every homosexual she met.
She practices what Jesus taught. To love everyone.

Besides, isn't it "God's" judgment that matters in the end, anyway? What's the use of passing judgment in one's mortal life when, in reality, what one says won't matter anyway? It just takes up time and energy that one could be using for other things. Things that actually have to do with one's own life rather then someone else's, which nobody else has any business in.

Would 'homosexual acts' include kissing? What about holding hands? Nuzzling on a park bench? Squeezing a lovers butt as they walk down the street together?

There is a lot of room for grey areas these days. For instance hookers wear short skirts and revealing tops but then so do many women who are not hookers. The same thing goes for men kissing men. It is not necessarily an overtly sexual act and we entertain many from cultures where it is practiced as a form of friendship. Such acts are most often performed as greetings. Excessive fondling and kissing on a park bench goes beyond friendship or a greeting.

Ah, so if my wife and are are making out on a park bench, we should be treated as 'hookers' and spend the night in jail? Or is it just the homosexuals that we should treat like hookers?

Honey, you're not making a lot of friends here with posts like this.

Gays and lesbians should be locked up for a day? And prostitutes? Interesting proposal to try regulating sexuality. How about husbands who rape their wives? Or preachers who regularly engage in adultery?

You know, there are quite a few Christians who forgive those "transgressions" without all the hostility.

Just saying.
