This is amazing! I was using my stumble button just a few minutes ago and came across this exact same website!

...just thought I'd share the excitement :)

If you need to pee badly enough, you will use whatever facility is a available--including the nearest bush. :)

Funny, having just come back from my son's Uni (where we stayed), we were a little surprised to find a bathroom with two toilet cubicles and two shower cubicles, for use by anyone.

It didn't seem to bother anyone; I went into a shower cubicle straight after one of the graduate's mothers.

I would never use a gender neutral bathroom if it meant multiple women and men could use it at the same time. I would not feel safe. It's bad enough when some woman brings her little child in the stall and I look down to see his (or her) little head under the wall looking at me. Now would I have to worry about some man peeping over the top of the stall? No thanks.

I already make the individual rest rooms gender neutral. If I go into a place of business where the men's and women's rooms are individual restrooms with the ability to lock the door, I don't care what's on the door. If the women's is locked (or filthy) or there's a line, I'll use the men's room. I've never understood the shocked looks from the men and women when I do this since it's not like there's a man in there with me.

Personally though, I prefer the women's room because men's rooms usually smell funny even when they're clean.

I wonder why ?

Reminds me of a toilet in a bar locally which has a notice in the Gent's "We aim to please, you aim too, please".

I wonder why someone hasn't thought of painting a bullseye on the inside of toilets? When I was potty training my son, he refused to sit down to pee because "big boys" stand up. However, that meant I had the fun job of washing down the toilet, floor and wall everytime he had to go....until I bought these cute little flushable targets that you drop in the toilet. My son thought he was in an arcade everytime he had to go.

There are some men out there who would benefit from targets.

I can imagine there are some people who are wishing they lived next to the white house at this moment.

I don't have to worry about charges being pressed against me for going in the women's restroom.

I can't imagine anyone pressing charges just because a biologically female person used a men's restroom. (However, I can imagine the reverse happening.) Or has this happened before?

People usually let it slide if a woman uses the men's restroom, but if a transgender woman uses a women's restroom and someone gets offended... it usually doesn't end well for the transgendered woman. :(

As a mom of a boy and a girl, I love the new additions of a Family Restroom. My son thinks he's old enough to go to the men's room alone in a busy public place, (he's 7, I think he's too young) and is embarrassed if I make him come in to the women's with me and his sister (plus many women think he's too old to be in there). So for places like the mall that are very busy the family restroom where we can go into one locked stall together is a wonderful thing for us. Of course my son is still embarrassed, but at least he doesn't have to go into the women's room and I know he's safe.

I've heard, can't find a link:eek: , of women using the men's room and men using the women's room being charged with misdemeanor trespassing. I imagine those laws were written to give police legal reason to arrest a man found in a women's restroom on the suspicion he was a potential rapist. I guess they have to occasionally charge a woman under the law to avoid the appearance of sexual discrimmination.

As for gender neutral restrooms or family restrooms to which Maize referred, I think they're a great idea. About the only drawback and a reason we don't see more of them is that the current setups are more space efficient, especially in the men's room because urinals take up less space than toilets, and the 'pig troughs' in heavy traffic restrooms take up even less.

As others have said, I don't think having one gender neutral restroom with multiple stalls is a good idea. It makes certain mischievous activity more possible.

i think gender nuetral restrooms should be installed along with gender specific ones

that way, those who have a problem with it don't have to use it, and those who don't mind have the option.

i would use a neutral one over a seperate one, mainly because the majority of my friends are female, and i hate that when they are upset, they go to the restroom together, and i can't see if they are alright.

i would also say that many of us can aim without the degrading aid of a target, and many men's rooms are not "funny smelling"

Reason, and reason again
I refuse to utilize a facility that is pee soaked and literally smells like an out house.

I get nauseous when I use public bathrooms. A lot of guys don't have a problem with flipping out their junk and using it like a gardening hose. 99% of the time I use a stall, or wait for one to become available, and even then I still feel strange. (Let's not get into the fact a lot of guys also think leaving their excrete unflushed constitutes as manly).

To prevent rape, why not have a janitor whose sole job is to keep the bathrooms clean and prevent any trouble?

Nice to know I'm not the only one.

LOL! EWWW!

Most women's restrooms are no better. I'm telling you, I'm paranoid. You should see all the cleaning/sanitizing wipes and what not in my daughter's diaper bag. I can't handle it.

That's a thought.:D
