General Debate: The Solution to All The World's Problems

The solution to all the world's problems is:

Stop making the same mistakes!

Who can argue with that??!!
As long as there is debate, there is disagreement. As long as there is disagreement, there will be problems.

I disagree! Ha-HAH!

...Wait a minute.... Wait... a .... minute. Dammit! You tricked me! I'm trapped in a cognitive loop. o_O I'm stuck. Help? Help!? If I agree I'm wrong, If I disagree I'm wrong. I'm sad....:( I thought I was on to something.

You're saying, what?, exactly? There's no way to stop making the same mistakes?

We'd just find new mistakes to make.

So there's infinite mistakes to be made? No over-arching principles to avoid them? No way to minimize the harm to the point of solving the world's problems?

I'm not asking for perfection. I'm problem solving. My question is simply this: Haven't we seen all the different sort of problems that large groups can make? We have a pile of historical data at this point. We have the internet. We're all sharing information. Doesn't it feel like the world keeps making the same stupid mistakes over and over? And with this depth of knowledge, I'd expect some good analytical problem solvers could categorize the different sort of problems, and then, see how different cultures addressed theose problems. Combine the solutions, do a sort of repeated looping filter where the solutions are cleansed based on the findings of this ... "Problem-Solver-Consortium"?

It's like doing laundry.

Yep. It’s a fool-proof plan.
But the world keeps making bigger and bigger fools.

I misread this at first. But the world keeps making bigger and bigger Tools.

I'm a big tool. Hee-hee.

:musicnotes: If I had a hammer. I'd hammer in the morning... I;d hammer in the evening. Like a big stupid tool.... I'd hammer out danger. I'd hammer out. Warning. I'd hammer out love, between, my brothers and my sisters. All. Over. this. Land. :musicnotes:

Where is @The Hammer? What you do you think, chief? Why not? Solve the World's Problems? The first thing to do, is to stop making the same mistakes, right? It's at least step 1? No matter what we do, if we keep making the same mistakes it will compromise even the most careful diligent planners? And it can't be left to chaos? That won't work either.

Please don't say something like, "embrace the suck?" I'm in a good mood.

Spoiler be damned ... How about we work our way through this and learn better ways of handling the challenges of life as we inch forward?

Wait, we're already doing that.

Haha

We have a vast array of collected wisdom on the internet. There's people who care about you all around the world. Even a vagabond has access and can contribute. Your story matters. You can help us while we help you.

That's how... to do what you've described better, more efficiently, more effectively. Do more with less work, because we're working together. We'd be paddling in the same direction for a change.

I tend to agree with @JustGeorge on this one. But yeah, it would be great if we stop making the same mistakes. On an individual level this is a great way to gauge self improvement.

On the other hand we can't expect this to stop mistakes from happening carte blanche. There will always be mistakes to be made.

This actually reminds me of two things. 1) I made light about the fact that I probably broke my leg chopping wood on the solstice. Something along the lines of I won't be making "that" specific mistake again, other **** ups notwithstanding of course. And 2) this plays into the theme I've been focusing on in my spiritual writings as of late, the balance of two powers, light and dark.

Not really about mistakes, I'm saying many of our problems originate from disagreements, and disagreements are a natural result of debate.

In my opinion, humans are emotional creatures, not logical ones.

I suspect our emotions will repeatedly lead us into trouble(and beauty).

A cooperative that includes vagabonds ... sounds risky. We wee wanderers have been surfing for quite some time now. Would we want irreversible cooperation or the typical two step type where we whirl around as if in coordinated step? Sometimes less is more, more or less or maybe more than less but who's counting?

All I'm saying is, your stories, what you've done, how you've survived and hopefully on occasion thrived have value when they're shared. That alone is helpful for the collection of wisdom ( not a collective, not a hive ). And maybe our stories help you too. Maybe.

It's gotta be better than being excluded or ignored like a ghost. Your stories, your wisdom has value. I think it's good you're here. I think there's a reason you're here. And that reason is good.

History matters, eh? I know myself well enough to know that I come and go. Sometimes I stick around for a few months on end, just to leave for at least as long. Other times, it's more like years. It has been a rare pleasure to acquire anything so lasting that it never ends. Few and far between these are. We all have stories. When I publish, I'll try to post a few of them. We wee wandering types who have been surfing longer than we sometimes like to reveal have a way of showing up out of nowhere sometimes.

Have a nice one,
