Georgia grand jury recommends perjury indictments in Trump election probe, finds no 'widespread fraud' in 2020

"A majority of the grand jury believes that perjury may have been committed by one or more witnesses testifying before it," the grand jury wrote in the report. "The Grand Jury recommends that the District Attorney seek appropriate indictments for such crimes where the evidence is compelling."

There are no names listed about who they believe may have committed perjury.”

Separately, the grand jury also found "by a unanimous vote that no widespread fraud took place in the Georgia 2020 presidential election that could result in overturning that election."

Keep in mind that only portions of this report have been released. Just because you don’t see something here does not mean it isn’t somewhere in the full report.

This is just an appetizer.

I was rather impressed that the finding of "no widespread fraud" was unanimous. There is hope yet in Georgia.

What they are doing is a painstakingly slow process in order to legally put that 600 pound orange gorilla in the center of the room in a proper prison jumpsuit. They are doing the work required of them as their civil duties as citizens of the United States. Law matters. Would you prefer them not to prosecute criminals in the United States of America? Just let him go, just because he's a poor misunderstood but otherwise swell guy?

He's above the law.

Same as Hillary or any other top tier elite. People ought to see the reality for what it is.

Theres absolutely nothing people like you or me can do anything about it.

I just accept the reality and continue on.

But they are. These various entities are tasked with identifying and prosecuting crimes, and that is what they are doing. You might send your recommendation to the House Republicans, however.
I would recommend that taxpayers money be used elsewhere on more practical things for the foreseeable future.

If there are any House Republicans viewing RF, that is my recommendation.

75 witnesses later...
the grand jury believes perjury may have been committed by "one or more" of them...

It sounds to me like the hunt to get Trump is petering out into more nothingburgers (as expected).

He believes that. Hopefully that myth will be busted shortly.

Same as Hillary or any other top tier elite.
Hillary was investigated and there was no reason found to bring charges. In Trump's case however, don't bet on his record of crimes. Being accused by political opponents, and having actual evidence of your crimes attested to by both political foes and allies, is another matter. If you believe his calling all of these accusations hoaxes, I have a swamp in Florida I can sell for cheap!

People ought to see the reality for what it is.
Indeed. Look to the propensity of evidence.

There's absolutely nothing people like you or me can do anything about it.

I'm not as cynical as this. I still believe the law matters, and Trump will have his day in court. So should Hillary, if there were anything at all to bring her to court for. These accusations against Trump have actual substance to them.

They almost always put any semblance of legal accusation in cloaked terminology. By now, anyone paying attention should have a pretty good idea of what Trump & Co were trying to do and why.

What cloaked terminology are you referring to in this case?

By now, if one doesn't know what Trump & his minions were up to, then they live in La La Land, very far from reality. All one had to do was to listen to or read the January 6th testimony from those who worked for Trump, including a couple of them who worked in the White House under him.

At this point, any supposed Christian that still supports and/or defends him simply must be going through the ritual of religion, and nothing more. One simply cannot support or defend such utter depravity and honestly believe in Jesus. Trump even himself a while back said that anyone who pleads the 5th must be guilty, and yet this is exactly what he did within the last two months-- over 400 times.

Yes and that includes the vapid desert as well.

When was the last time nobility was toppled by the peasantry?

Then the peasantry becomes the nobility, and its suddenly one day back to square one.

You can't point out any "cloaked terminology" used by the Georgia grand jury at all?

Can you at least point out the "semblance of legal accusation" that you are referring to?

To put it simply, a grand jury is not there to determine guilt but may recommend an indictment, which doesn't mean nor imply that the suspect is guilty. Therefore, they have to say things with words that don't imply a guilty verdict, which is what I meant by "cloaked terminology".

As far as we know, the grand jury did not recommend an indictment of Trump. The news reported that the grand jury recommended that some witnesses be indicted for perjury.

The chairperson for the grand jury said there's over a dozen that will be indicted, and when asked if the included Trump, she said that she couldn't answer that because of confidentiality but added that his name was mentioned many times along the line of what was presented to them.

Now we know that Ivanka, Jared, and Meadows have been summoned to testify and that the first two may have perjured themselves.

That is a strange way of phrasing. At this time we do not know the names of any of the people who have been recommended for indictment. We don’t know what they recommend. We do know they recommend several people be indicted for perjury. Do not make the mistake of thinking because they recommend perjury charges that means they only recommend perjury charges.

From the beginning I have said I am confident Trump will be indicted. Recent events have only cemented my confidence.
