It isn't my cup of tea , but it IS 80s . :)

I'm more of a Blues/Rock guy . But songs like Footloose , YMCA , and { I have nightmares about this one } Staying Alive , pretty much defines the 80s .

Oh , another movie with 80s music is " Wedding Singer ". They do a great running joke about Culture Club's " Do You Wanna Hurt Me ".

A list of the songs and artist can be found here http://www.inthe80s.com/wedding.shtml

Sham 69...not bad ...how about Angelic Upstarts...circle i know your fan but i have to say yet again for one so young you amaze me..curtain call was a limited edition LP..(my ex took it )no i'm not angry...like hell i'm not..

I've never been really big on Oi! Punk, but I enjoy the Upstarts. Teenage Warning, We Gotta Get Out of This Place and 2,000,000 Voices were great albums. As of 2002, they were still releasing albums, but their last, Sons of Spartacus, I wasn't too big on.

Curtain Call was also the entire third side of the Damned's double album, the Black Album.

Heh, don't worry. I tend to amaze a lot of people who were around when the scene was actually going on because I can carry on a conversation as if I had actually been there too, but really, was only born after the fact. I'm more than a fan. I'm a fanatic. I don't really think there's a word to properly describe me.

Not my cup of tea either, hence the need for assistance. I know Punk. I know Glam. I know Rockabilly/Psychobilly and I know oldies. That's me.

Thanks Kreeden! You've been a big help.

Dunno what planet you're living on, but Stayin' Alive was a 70s song (despite the dreadful movie of the same name that came out in the early 80s).

Thank you . :) I find most 80s bands quite forgetable , but there are a few that I tend to reforget about that I really would like to remember . :) Like ...

"S-say, Don, there sure is something familiar about that bowling ball."
To which a terrified Don replies, "Oh my God! That bowling ball! It's my wife!"
And the lesson we learn from this story is, next time you place your order,
don't forget to say, "No anchovies please."

:) J. Geils Band and " No Anchovies Please ". But " Freeze Frame " would likely be more along the lines you are looking for .

{ I recalled the song , and band , but couldn't recall the name of the song , so I have been searching for it the pass half hour ... I need a life . ;) }

"Centrefold" was a pretty popular one for them too.

Okay .... I don't recall when the nightmares started ... ;)

I am very bad with dates , and fads/music do have a way of overlapping ...

Speaking of planets though , the Bee Gees and Billy Idol are from the same planet ? Aren't they ? { meaning Auz }.

No worries! :D I'm a total 80s geek. I didn't even have to look for that link - I had it bookmarked. :p

:biglaugh: Um yes...but they're Brits, not Aussies - and no, just because we've got the Queen on our money that doesn't make us Brits. :p The Bee Gees did live here for a while - they got their first #1 hit here while on the boat back to England. The Bee Gees were born on the Isle of Mann, and grew up there and in Manchester before emmigrating to Oz. Not sure exactly where Billy Idol was born, but I'm pretty sure he's a Brit too. /useless Bee Gees trivia

Hey C1...was checking out the lists on that site, and I thought I'd add a couple more songs. I was always quite partial to The Bangles, but I only saw 'Walk Like An Egyptian' and 'Hazy Shade of Winter' on that list. I'd add 'Manic Monday', 'Different Light' and 'Angels Don't Fall In Love'.

The beautiful Billy Idol was born in Middlesex, England

Don't mind me Bastet . I live in Red-neck Central , and people are always talking about some country and western star , and I'm like " Who ? " :)

Their first hit coming out of Auz must have been where I went wrong , but yea , now that you say they were Brits ... Hmmm , it seems that Idol is a Brit too .

Ok , I KNOW that AC-DC are Auzzies . And Jet . { not Joan , but the band Jet }. Midnight Oil ... :)

C1 cleared that one up for us. ;) Shoulda known she'd know.

Heck, even I didn't know Jet are Aussies (it's pronounced with a 'z' sound, but written with s's, btw :) ), and I have their cd lol. Yes, AC-DC...Midnight Oil...Cold Chisel...I could reel off many 80s bands that aren't in existance now lol. I'm not much up on current music.

That is quite a site . I've just gone throught each year and it brought back quite a few memories . :)

Age ? You want it in ogre years , or human ? Lets see ? Germany became a member of Nato the year I was born . And it turns out that Billy Idol is only three weeks younger then I am .... Now that is hard to believe by appearance alone .

And don't get picky . ;) Yea , I know that you spell it with Ss , but at lest I'm not spelling it Ozz . ;) I'm a terrible speller . Sorry . { but I will likely misspell it again } .

Hey thank you C1 . :) But no , I could be looking at a sixties site in the same way I was looking at the 80s . I'm just a boy in an old man's body . And I hope to be so untill the day I die .

In some ways , I was born old . Or feel that I was . So I'm going to do my best to enjoy life while I can .
