Hee, I wish it was only a case of nervousness or wimping out. I have full-blown panic attacks if I get near needles, though. They have to drug me up in so many ways to get a needle near me...Mr_Spinkles said:Sissies!

The "blood bus" is here at our school today and I was the first to give blood and then I was the student representative that helped the team out today...It was (is) so fun! It is such a good thing to do and so unselfish!
AHHH, that would be so scary! I think that my dad had a similar experience with Hepititis or something. Wow...No*s said:Yes.
However for a funny story (and one that will likely be seized on by opponents of transfusion if they decide to post on the thread), I gave blood first in high school. Well, after a bit, I got a letter in the mail: I had the AIDS virus it said! Now that would be amazing, because I've never done needles, had sex, had surgery only once, etc. I couldn't conceive of how I would get it.
Well, I wrote a letter in response, and waited...and waited...and waited. One day, I got a phone call and was told it was all a sad mix-up, but "my" offending blood had been destroyed, and when they discovered the mix-up so had the other sample.
It blew my mind lol. It's quite scary to hear you have AIDS, even when you know it's a mistake.
Don't feel that way; my wife tried to give blood, and promptly passed out. They won't have any of mine - not good enough...snif snif; they say there's not much of it left in the alcohol & medication stream.FeathersinHair said:I've tried to, but they won't accept me. My veins aren't big enough. (I feel so inadequete!)

That's given me an idea, perhaps I could draw it out myself, distill it ..... um:jiggy:
