In religion I have seen the words "glory" and "glorify" used a lot

But what exactly does that mean?????

In the case of religions with deities, it means to honour their deities or deity.

From the Oxford dictionary
glory
[ˈɡlɔːri]
noun
  1. high renown or honour won by notable achievements:
"to fight and die for the glory of one's nation"
  2. magnificence or great beauty:
"the train has been restored to all its former glory"

verb
(glory in)
  1. take great pride or pleasure in:
    "they gloried in their independence"

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
To glorify God is to see God's will being done in deed, truth, and at heart.

In my faith, and truth I rarely get to experience any glory, or glorification. The reason for that is every generation seeks after what they want, and how to break barriers to whatever it is they want instead of anything true and eternal. Humanity only wants truth when they have been wronged by others. So there's the vain glory wrapped up in vanity, which runs contrary to glorifying the selfless love of others in virtue and in truth.

If i had a God, I would glorify God's virtue and character, by falling in line with the many virtues that sit as potentials often unrealized in this human world. In this world it's a fleeting attempt at living one small life so glorifying what is eternal and true would often be considered false and unprovable.

So to glorify, means to submit to higher will then that of humanity.
