Goats

One should broaden one's horizons when opportunity knocks.
You might've missed posts about it, but I also regularly eat at a local vegan place, Earthen Jar.
Really?! You just busted my image of ya.

BTW, I eat meat at the most once a week, and it's not pork and only rarely beef. This is why my avatar is so much better looking and healthier than yours.

Not really a "goat person" but their use in natural resource management to control invasive species is pretty darned amazing.

That was terrible and you should feel terrible.

I am the most-goat of people. Because somehow, some way, I managed to end up a goat in every astrological tradition on this mother-****ing planet. Chinese, Indian, Western..
Have you checked the Jewish one?

Well, this thread went weird real fast...

OK, there's basically three types of goats.

First you have the meat goats, like the Boer goats. But I don't eat meat, only fish & poultry.

Then you have the dairy goats, like the Alpine goats. Gotta love goat cheese! :)

Then there's the companion animal type goats. Pets, or pasture pals for Equines.
These can be any breed really, but for pets would be usually Nigerian Dwarf (Pygmy) goats
due to their ease of handling. But Nigerians also make great dairy goats.

If you've never done so, search baby goats on you tube and be prepared for ... AWWWWW

I like goats (some say I'm an old goat myself). I had a friend with a yard full of dwarf goats; cute, and they would climb on anything.
One doesn't expect ungulates to climb.

Oh, yes, they all love climbing. And jumping. More than one jumped on my back, thankfully just the lil kids they're so big now that would hurt. They grow up fast.
