God experience can change atheists

Shouldn't the fact that mystical experiences can be brought on with drugs as well as meditation or spontaneously, give some indication that they originate within the brain and not from some cosmic source?

Except for the fact that I have many "miracles" occur while I am completely lucid. There are many aspects to spirituality. I have physical things happen in my life constantly. If I want or need something, it always comes to me. If I pray, I receive what I ask for. The only thing I consider mystical is the fact that I am sometimes frightened by the fact that so many things happen. It is statistically impossible to have things happen as they do in my life. I credit this to "connecting" with God. It is something which I think everyone can do.

Have you ever learned a new word and suddenly seen it everywhere? It was there before, but you didn't see it or ignored it.

If you are inclined to say a coincidence is a miracle, you will see miracles everywhere because coincidences are everywhere.

Have you actually done the statistics to say what you experience is impossible? I doubt it. Most people don't realize just how common many 'rare' events actually are. For example, something that happens to only 1 person in 10,000 will happen to a thousand people in Chicago and to 4 people in the town I live in.

Also, if you are seeing things pop up on your computer that you asked for, you might simply be getting Amazon or Google recommendations. They correlate a LOT more than you would think.

How about when those coincidences always happen right after you think about things or right after you pray or exactly when you need something--perfect timing. Do coincidences do that? And, if so, on a consistent basis?

Much more than you might think. I regularly find that I decide I want something and find it quickly. Perfect timing is another one of those things that is easy to fool yourself about.

I'd like to compare how often you get what you prayed for right after versus how often you don't. it is easy to forget the times when the answer is no.

Coincidences definitely do not do that. Your god must think very highly of you to so consistently answer your prayers and requests.

If your children also possess this gift, we could be seeing the beginning of the next major step in human evolution.

I thought I told you. I have always had my prayers answered in the affirmative and immediately (within a day). This has now happened for many years. So, I have cause and affect.

Have you ever asked for something highly specific that would be extremely unlikely to happen ?

For instance, have you ever asked to find 237 ( no less, no more ) dollars lying on the street and found exactly that just after ?

Why did someone give you that ?
What was their reason for doing so ?

There was no reason. It was unrelated except that I prayed. I had little money, not enough to pay a $200 bill I owed. I prayed and a check came back from a company. I don't remember if it was a refund but I think it was. Anyway, it showed up in the mail the next day. One thing had nothing to do with the other except that I needed the money and it came.

Do you remember verifying when the check was mailed to you ?

I just thought of one for today. I had a problem with an HR person at my company. I was sitting trying to figure out what I was going to do. Then my daughter called me. She was on her lunch hour. She said I'll handle it. The interesting thing is she has an MBA in HR. I knew that she had an MBA but didn't remember her specialty was HR and she does have my power of attorney and health care proxy but I didn't think of her. l just felt upset over the situation and was trying to figure out how to handle it. Yes, we did do the papers before now but the fact that she called just when I needed help, was interesting. I didn't even know what time her lunch was. I thought she was done with lunch since it was 1:00 pm. So, I wouldn't have even bothered her until later.

In a survey of thousands of people who reported having experienced personal encounters with God, Johns Hopkins researchers report that more than two-thirds of self-identified atheists shed that label after their encounter, regardless of whether it was spontaneous or while taking a psychedelic.

As I always say the stupendous taste of mango can be known only by eating a mango.
Certain activities trigger parts of the brain to have experiences that can be labeled as "religious." What label we attribute that to is up to us.

Well that's nice you have found a place to believe in and put thanks for your experiences. I have way too many also but I create a lot of them myself through actions I take. And the rest I'm just happy to be alive to experience them all! I did a one time, assign a god of sorts as well as some magic to them, but those things are more wishful thinking as they most certainly can never be proved to be anything more than coincidence.

Enjoy them and life!
