God is morally neutral

God is morally neutral!

He is not good as he permits suffering and hardship

Indeed, in the bible, he personally caused much suffering and hardship

In todays world, many people suffer and experience hardship

God is therefore not good, as he could change this but choses not to!

However, God gave us scripture

And sent us prophets

To inspire us to make our planet a better place for all

He even sent Jesus, who suffered for our benefit

Also, there is a system of Karma in effect, so in the end justice happens!

And I believe in reincarnation and that we take it in turns to have happy lives and we take it in turns to have miserable lives!

God is therefore not evil, as he helps and inspires us to create a better world!

This man is not evil

It's just that we have to do this by ourselves, with his help

Also, I believe most suffering and hardship comes from humans, not God

And that it is up to humans to remedy suffering and hardship

Don't blame it on God! Humans are the problem!

I believe God will help us do this

I believe God helps those who help themselves!

God is therefore neither good nor evil - he is therefore morally neutral!

We cannot rely on him to PERSONALLY end suffering, hardship, and evil

But he will help us make the Earth a better place!

IMO, In order to judge morality of a choice, one needs to know all possible outcomes of the choice.

... in the bible, he personally caused much suffering and hardship. In todays world, many people suffer and experience hardship.

God is therefore not good, as he could change this but choses not to!

We're missing the information needed to make the judgement: "God is therefore not good". We don't know the outcome, the repercussions on a cosmic scale if God chose to eliminate hardship and suffering in the past present or future.

So, you'd give him the benefit of the doubt? Until we know how it all works out in the end?

Not exactly. It's based on what I see in creation. Although, I accept that it is a biased point of view.

I'm a naturally optimistic person. My natural inclination is to believe that God is good. In my view, I see much more good in the world than evil. We live in a world surrounded by the diversity of living things, not uniformity of dead things. God could have created a world where the balance of living things to dead things was skewed more to death or more of an equal balance between living and dead. But instead we are given the opportunity to live among living things much more than dead. To me, this gives the overall impression that God is kind and choses life for us instead of cruel or neutral.

Yes, what you said makes good sense

And I'm sure things could be a lot, lot worse than they currently are!

But does that have anything to do with God? I have no idea, but the optimist in me is inclined to say so!

Honestly, if a god exists, I'd agree that he'd most likely be morally neutral due to the way nature expresses itself. If this were DnD, his alignment would be chaotic neutral. :D

in any game, the referee is expected to remain neutral ......else the game is fixed, rigged, which is illegal according to the rules, typically.

Sometimes many Catholics believe in this distant careless God (the Father) because they are staunch believers in free will.
So, since God has donated people free will, he cannot interfere. So he will not bother to care.
Jesus is more loved because He did care.

New IMO, In order to judge morality of a choice, one needs to know all possible outcomes of the choice.

Seems to invalidate this...

Since you don't know all possible out comes of the choice...or even if there was a choice...your second paragraph is necessarily unjustified, no matter how optimistic you might or might not be. No?

Weightless words are easy enough to say. And you can certainly think anything you want.

Our universe is governed by law and chance, brother. If you are sincerely interested in the topic ('the problem of evil' in our Created, evolving universe), I would recommend you start with the writings of John Polkinghorne. Francis Collins too, though he is not quite as incisive as Polkinghorne. But his perspective as a biologist is worth checking out (biologos).

Peace
