How could one prove god?Nope which god actually exist outside mythology?
lack a basic understanding of philosophical theology.
Obviously, atheists do not have a basic understanding of the doctrine of divine simplicity
You're making this extremely easy. The concept of god factually evolved with time.
The concept factually changed form one culture to the next.
There is no such thing as "the" god.... All gods to date evolved in a religion, and each defined it differently.
There is no such thing as one god to humanity as a whole. One god only exist to certain people in certain geographic locations.
How could one prove god?
God is not the concept of god.
Your call. You're the one asking.Which god?
Prove it.To date, nothing exist outside the concept.
Prove it.
Requests for "proof" are a conversation stopper, because there is no proof of anything ontological. If you want to continue the discussion, allow leeway.
Your call. You're the one asking.
That's rhetoric.But....you just.....told someone....to....

Read again what I said. I said the post was idiotic, especially given all the prior information that was, apparently, either not read or simply not understood.Correct. Do you think he was calling a member an idiot just to do it or was it an extension of his dismissal of the post?
It's more than just an extra keystroke, but a way to designate the ontological distinction between Ultimate Reality, if you will, and (real or imagined) demiurges, like Santa or the FSM. Hinduism, too, make a similar distinction.I just use "god" all the time now. It's an extra key-stroke to capitalize it.
Let's look at definition, and realise how only man defines anything and everything, real or concept.First of all. Lets pick one god and look at how only man defines the concept.
Yes. Joseph Campbell already taught about similarities of motif amongst mythological traditions. You want to go back to the origin? Lest look at how the Abrahamic god was born in mythology.
At an early stage El and Yahweh became fused
So here we see Israelites defining the monotheistic god from two deities. They compiled the two together.
We also know King Josiah was a loyal Yahwist and had the bible redacted to monotheism. So a political decision made the one god concept.
We see some early Israelites as early as 800BC attributing Els divinity to Yahweh including Asherah Els wife, now viewed as Yahwehs wife.
Monotheism was not even fully accepted by all Israelites until roughly 200-400 BC .
Then what are you expecting proof of?Here is the kicker! we are not debating something ontological.
We are debating different peoples definitions of what the god concept means to them.
The image of the Ultimate Reality and the image of the demigod are both images. It's more than just an extra keystroke, but a way to designate the ontological distinction between Ultimate Reality, if you will, and (real or imagined) demiurges, like Santa or the FSM. Hinduism, too, make a similar distinction.
Yeah....that's the problem with words: they are misleading because they operate in the realm of imaged ideas. But reality, or in this instance what I called "Ultimate Reality," is not a concept. I think you understand that. The image of the Ultimate Reality and the image of the demigod are both images.
Then what are you expecting proof of?
