God Made Sex Something Pleasant

:cold: Thought I'd chill on this one via the smiley.

No, wait, I know there are people who do not believe in God, but they're missing a discussion when they miss out on one like this.

Why did God make sex pleasant  if he did not usually permit it? Is it a test? People were not allowed to have sex for any purpose but procreation, and that in the bonds of wedlock.

If any can answer this I'll give them credit for knowing what they're talking about. :clap

There are various answers traditional Jewish authorities have given concerning sexual pleasure. All agree that it is an aid to procreation. Many also say it is designed to bring intimate closeness between people.

Most sex is actually not prohibited. Many Jewish authorities have not proscribed premarital sex in many circumstances, and there is no Torah prohibition on consensual premarital sex between independent adults. Adultery, incest, bestiality, and having sex during a woman's period are prohibited to Jews, but non-Jews are not bound to abide by the commandments in the Torah, which were given only to the Jews. Traditionally, male homosexual sex is also prohibited, but non-Orthodox Judaism (the majority of Judaism) reinterprets the law to permit it. So, really, most consensual sex acts are permissible to us, and non-Jews need only follow the sexual laws of the country they live in.

Judaism is generally clear that, so long as we are having permissible sex, God wishes us to enjoy it and delight in one another. There is nothing inherently wrong about doing so.

I wonder if there would be less overpopulation if sex wasn't pleasant. (Sex isn't always pleasant for everyone, something to keep in mind- it usually is, though).

Good point, but it would really rare two people got themselves in a sexual situation by accident, when neither wanted to!

There's a word for that phenomenon, but I can't remember it though.

It's akin to 4 people trying to decide where to go on vacation and somehow settling on a destination that no one particularly wants to go to.

Why on earth would anyone think that sex was only for procreation?

It's a curiously prevalent scam that goes like this: Pick some strong human desire. Convince people that it is sinful and that absolution can be had from clergy. Voila! Rich and powerful clergy!

Attraction to the opposite sex is created by god as an imaginary illusion and such feelings are programmed for the procreation purposes, but as we may think of
sex for pleasure only without the need for wedlock, then god forced us by his laws to avoid adultery.

God programmed women to looked as sexy or translated to be so and the amazing thing that god made such attraction for a body locations which in reality are awful,i don't want to explain which places attract men, whether rear or front, you know used for urgency (CR) and for sex pleasure at the same time.

There is nothing in the Bible that says sex is only for procreating.

We are a highly social species, and sex is pleasurable because of the strong instinct toward pair-bonding. Procreation is not the main reason behind sex being pleasurable, since we can find many ways to propagate the species that are not intimate at all. And we can be sexually active during infertile times of a female's cycle AND when a female is post-menopausal.

Plus, it doesn't explain homosexuality. I always find it amusing when straights forget that same sex romps can be highly pleasurable too. ;)

It isn't pleasant to asexuals or homosexuals that feel the need to carry on their family genes.
