God The Omnipotent

Neo Deist

Th.D. & D.Div. h.c.
God created the universe and all that is in it.
God created the laws of nature.
God created gravity and orbits.
God created what would become science and mathematics.
God created life and its complexities.
God created the elements and photosynthesis.
God created time, space and medicine.
God created us with intelligence.

God even created "Satan" but for some damn reason the omnipotent creator can't seem to do anything about him, according to some of the more archaic minded religions. Satan gets to roam free, tempting and taunting, and spreading his wickedness in his wake. Only a human mind would come up with such nonsense.

I say that if Satan were truly this evil, devilish nemesis, that God could simply snap His divine fingers and uncreate what He created and save everyone the trouble. ;)

Ok. So now....as you suggest. Why? and to the latter portion of your OP, Why not?

PS - Omni-beings would perforce be "Its", not mere male or female.

I appreciate your points but its hard to reply without knowing where did you get these Quotes.
Is it from biblical point of view? Or Islamic prospective.
Lets start from here first.
Thanks

What do you mean "do anything about him"? Everything is working as intended.

Yeah, this is one of those Christ-struck concepts that's asserted without having been thought through.

The theology of omnipotence:
The claim: God is omnipotent.
The reason: Because we say so.
The caveat: But don't bother yourself thinking about its implications.
The admonition: Just accept it."

Maybe, to solve everything, tell yourself "there is no such thing as satan"...."there is no such thing as satan"

What happened?

Well, once I started studying theology at seminary and opened my mind up to other religions, I started asking questions about what I was taught growing up.

When I started learning the biblical languages of Hebrew, Koine Greek and even Latin (although not an original biblical language), I realized that the Christian concept of Satan was pure drivel. When it comes to Satan, Judaism has it right.

To add salt to injury, a few years ago I got into astronomy as a hobby, and I now think on a cosmic scale instead of an earth centric one. That is why I am a deist and no longer a Baptist.

"Satan" means resister, "Devil" means slanderer. The true God hates slander and slanderers. (Psalm 15:1,3) Therefore, God would not create someone he hates, and who opposes God. A murderer or thief is not created such. Rather, it is a choice made by a person who may formerly have been honest to become a thief and steal; or the choice by a person who decides to murder another. It is the same with Satan. IMO, Satan chose to become a resister of God, and a liar. I believe the Bible clearly shows Satan's motives, and why Jehovah has allowed him to exist temporarily. It also reveals his coming destruction is certain.(Revelation 20:10,14)

So then things happen against Gods will.
Good to know.

Satan means to do something against an action. Which is why its often translated as adversary. See Numbers 22:22.
