Gods and Thoughts

But thoughts, like other mental activity, aren't physical in the way that the brain is physical.

Yeah they are really they are chemical and electrical signals.

As I showed above a person looked at a picture. By looking at the brain and fmri and what parts of the brain were firing, they could tell what picture she looked at with out the doctors seeing the actual picture. Of course thoughts are natural and physical.

The thought is a product of physical processes, but not physical in itself.

so in the video above the person saw the picture, one picture of something and by blood flow and parts of the brain that were activated they knew what the picture was without knowing themselves an seeing a picture and what that picture is, is a thought of the picture.

They don't have it quite down to individual thoughts and reading your mind. Yet at least, but thoughts are physical electrical and chemical impluses. Neurons and the different neuron pathways for the thought can be studied.

watch the video above.
I don't think we're anywhere near observing a thought, what we're doing at the moment is observing patterns of activity in different parts of the brain.

Not a single thought, but

""Advances in brain imaging techniques such as positron emission tomography (PET), single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), along with electro-encephalography (EEG), an earlier technique for monitoring brain activity are enabling scientists to produce remarkably detailed computer-screen images of brain structures and to observe neurochemical changes that occur in the brain as it processes information or responds to various stimuli and the formation of emotions ranging from love and lust to anger and disgust. "

They have come quite far since the above was written.

I love how @shawn001 just keeps posting and supporting the influence of such things while arguing against the OP :)

Thoughts are a product of physical electrical and chemical impulses - not electrical and chemical impulses in themselves.

Classical Liberal
I previously put forth the following argument, which was met with an almost fundamentalist-minded rejection (ironically mainly by atheists!):

1. Gods are concepts

2. Concepts exist

3. Therefore Gods exist

1. Infinity is a concept.

2. Concepts exist.

3. Infinity exists.

Checkmate.

1. "Space aliens are among us" is a concept.
2. Concepts exist.
3. Look more carefully at the people around you.... ;)

This would mean

1. Gods are concepts

2. Concepts exist

3. Therefore Gods exist

Then all gods exist with that logic although in no way proof of anything, other then a concept. Yes?
