God's Name is God

I am not Nikel.
So for God it is sometimes a name and not just a title.
Now God is philosophy is not a title, it is a name.

Now for what Christianity is in the end, as that becomes relevant, we can then play No True Scotsman until long past the cows have come home.
soapy, just didn't clear up the problem. listen Names are nouns, but there are two types of Nouns..... common nouns, and proper Nouns that Names are rendered.

example. if you and I went to McDonald's and you ordered a hamburger, the cashier would then say what kind of Hamburger... BIG MACK, or the Quater pounder... ect.

note, hamburger is a common name for all hamburgers. but when one say Big Mack or Quater Pound, that separate them from "all" other hamburgers, which is a PROPER NAME/NOUN. so when 101G "Lord" Jesus, that separates him from any joker who may claim the title "Lord", understand now?

Lord is a title, a COMMON NOUN, (which is only ONE "Lord", Smile), just as with "gods", g small case, many are so called, but ..... 1 Corinthians 8:5 "For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)" 1 Corinthians 8:6 "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."

Yeah, but to my wife God is God, where as god is something else.

Maybe if you say it 100x it will come true.
Once only, and then 6,799 times thereafter, actually!

God’s name is eternal so it is sacrilege (and futile) to try to destroy it by not speaking it nor writing it in honesty, integrity, respectfulness, in holiness, in piousness, in truth and in worshipfulness.

The only reason to fear speaking of writing the name of God is if you intend to misuse it or speak disingenuously using the name.

YHWH God only restricted the use of His name to safeguard its sanctity and prevent misuse - abuse which leads to disrepute.

"God's name is God."
Makes sense to me.
This defeats the argument that "God" in the motto
on our money is about a generic god, eg, Allah,
Ganesha, The FSM. "God" is the Christian god.
None other.
I wonder what they think of us atheists spending
money with their blessing, while we snicker & sneer
at their sky fairy? I notice that they like my paying'm.

One of the famous things in Islam is the 99 names of God. They aren't actually names, but titles given to God. I've seen some beautiful artwork of the script.

Excellent - ‘They aren’t actually names …’.
All ninety nine ‘Titles’ can be summed up in ONE NAME: ‘YHWH’ - ‘I AM’!!! Put, ‘YHWH’ before all those titles of Allah!!
‘I am…. [Allah title]’

Keep spreading the good news about the difference between a name and a title. With this knowledge many false thinking will be dispelled.
God (the major title of the deity of the Jews and Christian’s) has one name, and one only name, ‘YHWH’ (in Hebrew). A name is never prefaced by an ARTICLE, whether definite or indefinite (‘The’, ‘An’, ‘A’), but a title always has its article (though it does not always need to be shown). Additionally, a title should be followed by a context (but it does not always need to be shown if it is clear from the situation in which it is used)

The title, ‘God’, should properly be written as ‘The GOD’. And also, ‘The God of ….(context)’, e.g. ‘The God of the Jews’. If a Jew is speaking to another Jew about their common deity then neither the article nor context need be spoken. And this is how it came to be (the shorthand) when we read from the scriptures since we are reading from the position of the Jews (Israelites, or Christians). Notice how when speaking of other nations or tribes, both the article and the context is shown since the ‘foreign’ God is not common to both parties… otherwise the NAME of the EXPLICIT deity is used - and that explicitivity carries both the article and context of the deity. e.g. It need only be said, ‘Dagon’, and it is known that the it is ‘THE God OF THE PHILISTINE’ that is being spoken of.

..and not Mr. God? ;)

..otherwise the NAME of the EXPLICIT deity is used..
..and YHWH is also a name/title .. "I will be what I will be"

Muslims revere the name "Allah" .. yet it is only an Arabic word.
Hebrew/Arabic/English .. whatever .. you are right in saying we shouldn't take the Lord's name in vain.
i.e. we should revere God and His chosen ones
