I don’t know who Ussher is, but one only needs to read the Old Testament to come up with a timeline.
It's funny how creationists have no idea how the timeline for creationism came about. That's what he did and did the math on the lifespans of the characters in the stories. He even sorted out an actual date of Creation.

As I noted it is absurd that creationists still hold on to a YEC scenario at all. It illustrates how theists tend to decide an idea is true and then work hard to make it all make sense regardless of the catastrophe it ends up being from an intellectual approach.

I know how to notice and read humongous gaps in time. It’s not that difficult. I can read the dates that scientists give to these found fossils. There aren’t nearly enough fossils to cover all the millions and billions of years that they claim the earth has existed.
What is your level of expertise in assessing this evidence? Are you claiming that you have expertise superior to experts in science so we should defer to you instead?

But, if you want to re-do their time charts to account for each year, let’s see it. Just account for each millionth year, that should make it easier.
Are you suggesting scientists have committed fraud, or incompetence? Either accusation will require you have certain expertise in science.

The funny think is many creationists are having to push their YEC scenario to about 10,000 years to make the known facts fit their beliefs. To my mind what it the point? The only reason for a YEC scenario is BECAUSE of Ussher. If his timeline doesn't work, throw it whole idea out.
If they were more aware of the known facts, they'd push their scenario a lot further back than 10,000 years. ;)
Ussher's flawed methodology aside, without verifying the reliability of the Bible, any chronology based on it is equally unreliable.

Don’t overlook the FACT that scientists conveniently SKIP over MILLIONS and BILLIONS of years for which they have NO fossils and NO discoveries for. They have NOTHING to fill in those humongous gaps of time with. Their theories stretch over these gaps of time to include their dating timetables for the few fossils they do have and to force the evidence to connect. They hope nobody will notice these millions and billions of years that must be skipped over due to no evidence.

Let’s throw out their timeline, it doesn’t work!
When were these chronological gaps?
Why rely just on fossils? We have radiometric dating that can reach beak billions of years, with no gaps.
What do you think was going on during these 'millions and billions of years' that we should know about? Why would the scientists not want us to know about it?

How so? What makes the OT a reliable indicator? Does the Popol Vuh outline a reliable timeline, as well? How about Lord of the Rings?

I don’t buy all evidence in life. You can though
Admit it. You don't know what the evidence is, nor do you know how the timelines were arrived at. You have an emotion-based belief without actual supporting evidence.
I don't think you're qualified to weigh in on this subject.

I think their mistake was just holding onto the the whole thing past the point where science started showing a literal interpretation of Genesis wasn't accurate. I can't blame them for a creationist view into the 1800's because there was no scientific alternative. After the Snopes trial creationism became big business for certain groups. When I was in high school we visited my aunt, uncle, and cousins and I saw a comic book style book on their coffee table that was about creationism. I'd never heard of it. I looked through it and thought is was a joke. I realized they took this seriously when they told me that evolution is not true. That was another stepping stone for me to be an atheist.

I have no idea what “creationists” do or don’t do. I’m not a “creationist.” I’m not familiar with what the term is.

I am a Christian, who believes God created the universe, the earth and everything in and on them. I learned the earth’s timeline during Bible Study. I made my own timeline. My timeline is hypothetical, just as the Theory of evolution is. But, two very simple teachings of God blow apart the timing, sequence, and ape theory in the Theory of evolution. I choose God over man’s theory and intellect.

When man’s theory is full, complete, and can be called perfect, I believe it is likely to come very close to matching God’s timeline. For now, man’s theory is far from being complete, let alone perfect.

But your Christian "theory" is not even a theory. It's entirely unfounded.

I see, you admit to having no working knowledge of science.

I’m saying scientists’ work on the Theory of evolution is incomplete.
There are millions of years where no fossils exist for those years. Show me a graph that breaks up time into periods of one million years each. Then show me a graph where periods of time are broken down into periods of 100,000 years each. Then 10,000 years per period, then 1000, 100, and finally 1year. Go until there are billions of lines, illustrating one year each with its fossils and discoveries. Can you do it? Can the “experts” make such a graph?

No, you said "My timeline is hypothetical, just as the Theory of evolution is. But, two very simple teachings of God blow apart the timing, sequence, and ape theory in the Theory of evolution." which is nonsense and incorrect.

There are millions of years where no fossils exist for those years.
This is the second time you've claimed this. two of us have asked for evidence and clarification and you ignored that.

You don't even accept evolution which means you don't have an adequate working knowledge of science to make any judgments about it.

I'm going to bet you don't know what a hypothesis is. Or what a theory in science is. It's basic 7th grade science.

That’s for the scientists to discover and tell us. They haven’t accounted for what existed during each of those billions of years.
