Is there really a difference between "inside of you" and "outside of you"?

That is what They tell you is so....

They also say Christopher Columbus 'discovered' places where people already lived.

I think that inside and outside are the same. For any given person the entire universe exists within their mind. Remarkable really, all those people walking around with infinity in their heads.

No doubt. I was thinking the other day when I looked at an ant and wondered,

'What the size of his world is?'

'What if we're nothing more than a mitochondria or blood cell in the Body of the Universe just doing some duty that we might be complete unaware of?'

'What if the Universe is nothing more than a cell or organ in the Body of the Cosmos?'

Conversely, 'How far does infinity go when you go inward or towards the so called 'small' side?'

There are worlds and universes inside of us, and full of organisms that might not have THE slightest idea of what they are part of, what they are achieving and how they are effecting THEIR Universe.

I LOVE looking at the night sky and seeing all the stars, I feel sooo small and insignificant but at the same time to deeply engulfed and connected.

So if I tell you to give all your wealth to the poor, that means that you will want to do so? Wonderful. I can solve global poverty at a stroke.

What do you think of the 3rd saying of Jesus in the Gospel of Thomas mean, that "...the kingdom is inside of you, and it is outside of you"?

What is the Kingdom? It is the Ultimate Existence, a Holy Existence. It requires repentance and purity to enter it. The Outside World is under the rule of the "god of this age" who is the evil one, but he has no power over those who are members of the Kingdom of Heaven. We "Strive" (work hard) to enter the Kingdom "through the narrow gate", and the broad path leads to destruction.

The Kingdom of Heaven is the "Ultimate Reality" and the "god of this age" is the one who keeps the wretched in a state of blindness, many staying within this blindness as it suits them comfortably.

It's almost like the Matrix. We are born into a world of sin, and it is through accepting the Torah and living righteously as the Moshiach taught, that we are redeemed from the Evil one and his Archons.

A spirit of God lives within each person; therefore, we are sons of God. This is the true meaning of "The kingdom of heaven is within you.".

I've heard some Christians say that heaven is "within a person" or in the "state of mind" before. But I am not sure what Thomas' was referring to the "kingdom is outside of you".

With the right frame of mind (inner kingdom) everywhere is Heaven (outer kingdom)

sounds kinda like that to me

Greetings Gnostic:
What are you going to learn about your self that brings you closer to God, other than you as well as all men are sinners

Isa 55:6 Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Isa 55:7 Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Isa 55:9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Sincerely:

That state of mind would of course be, yours.
Other people can have it as well.

If it was your own thoughts, only, you would be ...alone.

Thomas was written before the cannon gospels, I believe.
The reason the four gospels of the NT are canonical is because they are considered the earliest, most elaborative, and most accurate.

regarding the OP. it may be a pantheistic perspective, also complimentary to the canon gospels which describe the natural world as the dwelling place of God, as opposed to buildings built by men.
'The Kingdom of God is inside you and it is outside you' gives the motivation to search ourselves and search the world outside us. it also echoes the other words of the gospel of Thomas: 'I am the light that shines over all things. I am everything. From me all came forth, and to me all return. Split a piece of wood, and I am there. Lift a stone, and you will find me there.'

It is very hard to understand the "Hidden" meaning of Gnostic writings. They are only understandable to those wth the intuitive Gift.

It is now though that the writer of Mark was a Gnostic.

Even if you read Thomas in modern translation, the meaning will be completely hidden to most of us.
