There is no sin with free choice, we respond to grace by giving our yes, or our no. Actually like any important relationship.

Grace is not something we earn by our initiative, it is God's self gift of love, freely given, we may refuse to accept the gift, but its always there, not possible to 'give it back'. There are circumstances where the saying goes, after some tragic experience, 'but for the grace of God, go I'. I've always disliked that saying for it insinuates that the 'unlucky' ones were not within God's grace.
