Gravitas: Jeff Bezos is going to Space

Well the title says it all, Jeff Bezos always had a desire to go into Space. The part that surprised me, was that lots of people sign petitions that he should not be allowed to return to earth. Quite a few people seem to have a problem with billionaires. Of course that is never gonna happen, though there has been a Russian who got stuck in space for 311 days. I think if such a thing happens to Jeff Bezos his desire to travel space again will be gone for good

this made me think of something I saw recently

in the 40s and 50s and 60s around 40% of the income of the US, went to the labor class

now it’s 20%

does this mean that the entire worker population must make do on HALF the income it had in those times, simply so a few obscenely rich people can waste vast amounts of money stroking their inflated egos?

just wondering

Too many don't want the rich to pay their fair share in taxes and don't want any government assistance to those on the bottom.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
Lifestyles of the rich and famous.

They certianly like rubbing it in royal and proper.

Good and most important proof how demonic the elite works. Thanks for sharing.

Billionaires have acted Adharmic (nobody gets that rich in a dharmic way) , hence people know they act like crimininals, taking the money of the poor by devious methods (war, banking, taxes, stock manipulation, corona exploitation, vaccinations and what not)

Spam, wonderful spam (bloody vikings!)
Maybe they'll send Trump up into space, and forget to bring him back. :p

Also, not to forget, capitalism.

I was going to let the air out of his space tires, loosen
his hyper-lug nuts, & put sugar in his tritanium gas tank.
But then it occurred to me that you'll do the job for me.

I don't hate all rich folk.
But I'd pour whiskey on his grave.
(Filtered thru me kidneys first.)

No, I won't do that job for you:D. Would make me a criminal too. That's just what it is, people have the freedom to do criminal acts. Not all are Saints

We have some disagreement about what is criminal.
Many here seem to believe that capitalism itself is.
But I find that socialism & communism are the greater evils.

I look at Bezos as a person....not merely one
of a group to be judged jointly & severally.
(Please excuse the legal jargon...but it
makes the point with great brevity.)

Vaccinations? Why do you include those?

I don't think capitalism nor socialism nor communism are evils; just some people abuse their position (human trait, happens in any -ism)

Thanks for the link, I indeed did not know that concept. Indeed nice and concise.

Systems create incentives for behaviors.
The big differences are tendencies for evil to be distributed
(capitalism) vs centralized (socialism & communism). The
latter has the more uniformly authoritarian historical records.

Vaccinations are useful, but some rich use them to gain more riches, not just for the well being of humanity, as vaccines should be used for IMO
That could be said of any enterprise, eg, farming.
The profit motive is more useful than alternatives,
eg, altruism, coercion.

Seeing China, North Korean and Russia to mention a few, that is probably true, though what the Dutch did in the past in Indonesia is not any better. Even here in Europe we had this big wars. WW1+2 and even recently in Yugoslavia the war around 1990 where many were killed and raped. Not much humane acting there. I would think anno 1990 Europeans would be a bit humane, but far from that, seeing the proof of this recent war.

So, probably its everywhere similar. Now and then the "ugly beast" raises its head. And naturally the West loves to point out the beast in China, Russia and North Korea, and puts in the same effort to "not show" their own ugly things. Let's hope it won't happen again, but I won't hold my breath.

Humans just don't change overnight. So, I expect (not hoping) anytime something ugly to happen again in the West

But here we do talk about medicine, which should be free or cheap IMO. I was surprised to read that in some Muslim Country, Iran I think, it is free.

We benefit from laws & regulation when they
further goals of peace & liberty.
