I haven't celebrated Christmas in 40 years.
Somehow it seems sort of disrespectful for a non-Christian to usurp a Christian holy-day.

What the hell does that have to do with being greedy? My wife and I give a Christmas gift to a child and you classify us as "greedy greedy people"? What a joke ...

You'd actually be surprised. The members of the LDS church celebrate Christmas and 99.9% of them believe in Christ. There are 12 million+ members of the church. So, I say that is quite a bit and I agree, it's people's own fault if they get pulled into the commericialism and materials of the season.

Lots of people have no choice, they are expected to partake or be branded humbugs, killjoys, scrooges and the like.

If you can worship a buck, you can get into the spirit of christmas.
I think that's the central theme to the Alvin+the Chipmunks Christmas special.

There is a 0.1% of LDS that don't believe in Christ?!
Wouldn't that violate the definition of LDS?

Of course, in light of recent revelations, I suppose they could be Bush-supported NSA agents engaged in espionage...

I feel the same way. I celebrate Christmas (actually, the soltice) with a feast and give presents to my neices and nephews. For someone to call me greedy because I give presents to children is just wrong and thoughtless.

Don't I know it, I get called all sorts of names...............Joking; I think most get into the spirit of giving gifts, and overeating and drinking, even if they don't belive in the religious aspect of Christmas.

Well most people get that day off so what are they supposed to do all sit round moaning how left out they feel ?
Or how dare they be made to take a holiday:bounce

Consumerism is the driving force of humanity these days, like it or not.
