Greetings!

I’m new here and I wanted to introduce myself.

To start out, I’m Canadian, male, late 30’s and I work as a research analyst. Politically, I’m left of centre and have supported the Green Party.

With respect to worldviews, I’m an atheist or agnostic, depending on how you define those words. Despite my irreligiousity, however, I’m fascinated with topics related to religious worldviews. And I can appreciate that religions can provide important lessons about human nature and that theology does influence things such as social values and politics. My MA thesis, for instance, focused on how different religious worldviews influenced economic and social values.

I’ve previously been associated with secular boards, but I got disenchanted with the lack of diversity. I was frequently a formal debate moderator. There are a few names here I recognize as well from other boards. I was very pleased to find this site, because I value a diverse discussion environment.

Anyways, I look forward to taking part in the discussions here!

Welcome aboard!
But be careful....we all know what happens to red shirts. Don't go on those 'away teams'.

Thank you, Tol. What's the general demographic here? Perhaps I'll make a poll.

On the surface, RF might seem to posess such a self-limiting notion as "general demographics". When it reality, RF transcends all known concepts; space, time, cosmic inertia, et al.

Myself, why I'm just a simple Methodist.
