Growth in faith

I've been discovering that faith is an amazing thing.

The word 'faith' seems awfully inadequate because it doesn't have the connotations of experience that I wish to convey. Experience/perception is part of what I'm talking about but those words don't capture it either.

I'm curious to hear about the road others are travelling.

Where's your faith taking you?

With me it is a relationship with God and the more I grow in it the less religion and dogma play a part in it. It's just me and God. I learn more of what He expects from me and I'm blessed in return to learn more about how my relationship with Him reflects in my relationship with others.

Well, I've been through a lot. I don't think that faith can be summarized as just blind believing. That is too narrow a term for me. I do know, however, that I am always growing and learning new things that I haven't known before.

I guess right now my faith has led me to believe that I must apreciate life to really live it. It has given me reason to believe that the humanness connecting us is beyond religion, or beliefs, so something deeper must be felt to bring us together.

Hmm... right now, I'm looking at a magazine, where a photo spread of two models are on the back cover. They are being portrayed as "objects of desire". An advertisement for a netbook portable. They are wrestling each other for the netbook. One of the women is tugging at the other's golden blonde lockes, while the other is looking at the camera. Her red lips are parted suggestively.

I wonder if this is the feeling that is supposed to bring us together. Does the magazine try?

The term faith does seem to narrow and inadequate, too, but I use it. It is an experience to me, not just a belief.
