But the founding fathers wanted us to have weapons to defend ourselves. It was never to hunt or go to a shooting range, it was specifically for preventing your own government from oppressing you."
^^^^^^^^^^^^ Yup. That pretty well sums it up.
Good guns expensive?
Yup. Sure are.
A modern sporting rifle, ( libs call them assault rifles) would set one back over a grand.
Then add extra magazines, and ammo and you are passing $1500 bucks.
A good telescopic sight? Add another $5 or six hundred.
I hate to replace mine if something happened to them.
Frankly I just couldn't afford it.
7.62x39 Semi Auto AK-47 Assault Rifle AK47 $1,000 bucks.
H&K Model 91 Assault Rifle
$2,500.00
Top of the line. But you won't get one for under a grand then add the $5 or $600.00
for a good quality telescopic sight.
I use mine for "assaulting" groundhogs.
Yes I do eat them. Groundhogs not rifles.
Farmers LOVE me.
Dairy farmers cringe when a $1200.00 (cheap one) breaks a leg in a groundhog
hole and has to be shot on the spot and dragged away to rot.
No they can't usually be butchered for meat.
Infection quickly sets in and renders the meat bad for consumption.
That and the poor cow is often far from the barn and not found very quickly so
infection is the norm.
Can't lead the cow to the barn with a broken leg ya know.
I have no idea how many g.h.'s I've taken. Hundreds for sure.
Eaten quite a few also. Pretty hard to starve an ol' country boy.
