Guns In God's House

The Emperor of Mankind

Currently the galaxy's spookiest paraplegic
If American Christians can't even put their guns down for five minutes to worship their god then that shows a rather disturbing mindset. I'm glad I don't live in the States where it sounds like churches will become armed camps due to this bill.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — The Virginia Senate has passed legislation aimed at allowing guns in church in response to a deadly church shooting in Texas.

The Republican-controlled chamber voted along party lines Tuesday to approve the measure, which would repeal a state law prohibiting weapons in a place of worship during a religious service. The state House still has to approve the bill, which Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam opposes and has indicated he would veto.

Our church has been threaten by whacko. The state police suggested armed members in our lobby as a preventative.

Which fools would you allow to have guns?
Trained & vetted fools....like me.
The right to own guns is guaranteed by the Constitution....but just like
the right to travel, not everyone is allowed to drive a car on public roads.

Btw, I'd like to make the right to drive a car harder to enjoy.
Did you know that killing or trying to kill someone with a vehicle here
does not mean losing one's license, except temporarily in some cases?
Cars are deadlier than guns, but they don't have that fright-inducing
factor, so cars & drivers aren't given the scrutiny they deserve.

I'm safer than most young'ns.
But when I start losing me marbles, I'll stop carrying.

It was a joke based on your response and the age of the person in the story.

I don't really think that age should determine whether someone should carry. I only think that landlords should be excluded from carrying.

Ya gotta admit that by having guns in the church the pastor may be "encouraged" to give better sermons.

Landlords are the most responsible.
We've a better record than cops....although that sounds like faint praise.

Age is a factor in gun safety, since our faculties decline.

BTW, I was at a synagogue service in Jerusalem back in 1998, and the young lady sitting right in front of me had her rifle right under her seat-- she was in the IDF. However, just having any congregant being armed I would be personally opposed to and would go elsewhere.

Well, if God either can't or won't protect those who are there to worship Him for His strength and goodness...:D

Trying to kill with a car here, if proven, is a long jail sentence, as long as successfully deliberately killing.

Falling asleep at the wheel and killing somebody is a long jail term, and can be longer than killing a person with a punch in a fight. Our laws adjust to public emotions in some cases.

And we also (sometimes) give firearms and shotgun licences to fools.

Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
God wouldn't need a gun.
Given his track record by not swooping in and helping out his people, I'd say it's a right fine time for God to invest in one.

Being up in the air and all, floating around the place he could be one of those Spectre gunships. Killing the baddies with IR technology.

About time. I guess they finally had the :bomb:mind-blowing:bomb: realization that banning guns didn't stop gun violence.

The psychological factors that lead to gun violence don't get addressed.
